It indicates that the CURRENT drain on to the heater coils are higher that the rating on the wires. So if the fuse is intact and the heaters works fine , you can check the contacts at the coils for loose connection., If not change BOTH the wires with higher rating wires preferable heat resistance insulation.

The elec plug wire going into the back of the heater, one side of it melted i replaced the melted part, it only lasted a few days, could you tell me what i need to replace-thank you

If the wires to this unit keep melting then you are drawing way to many amps than the cord is rated for. there must be some other issue if you keep melting wires. I would not use this till it is checked out to make sure there are no shorts in the unit itself. This will lead to a fire if not done correctly. If the cord needs replaced then replace it with at least a size 12 or better yet a #10 wire, this will provide more than enough current capacity. Have you contacted the manufature for advise?

I have a 1999 jeep cherokee 4.0 when you turn the blower motor on it shuts down the radio, tach, speedometer why.

Although vehicle electronics is not my strongest suit, I will tell you about the problems this year has had with HVAC components: The resister is a known problem which can heat up and melt wires and cause problems and "back feed" current into joining harnesses and melt and fuse them together causing you your grief. It should in all honesty, blow fuses when it does this but I did not encounter this when my hvac system was bad. Sometimes, the heater blower motor gets old and draws too much current as well and allows current to back feed into joined harnesses as well. Replace the black relay on the passenger side under the glove box with a high quality one. Check your resister, and blower fan for appropriate current and grounding. If you are having other related issues with your heater blower speed your selector switch may be bad too. Remove the cowling panel and pull the hvac module out of the dash (like a stereo) check for melted wires, plugs and harnesses. Run your fingers along the wiring and check for melted fused spots. Are you blowing fuses? This is your starting point. Let me know once you get this done and tell me what you have found. Take care and let me know how it goes.

The black wire in the hot water heater is glowing red, I can hear a noise in the breaker bos so I pulled the breaker loos and the plastic to the panel has been melted.

Breaker may be defective and not clipping off when it overheats. More and more power keeps going through it and nothing to stop it. Or check the wiring on the heater itself to be sure they are connected right.

2003 GMC Sierra heater Blower wont shut off

My 2003 Sierra's blower came on by itself in the garage while I was sleeping and ran the battery completely down. I had to replace the blower switch located under the glove box next to the blower at the bottom of the right corner of the dash. The switch is in front of the blower and held in by two screws. Disconnect the two wire connections. This is a "dealer only" part and cost me 65.00. Also check the wire harness with seven wires connected to it for melted plastic. It will be marked "ABCDEFG". If it has melted, you'll need to replace it. Pay attention when reinstalling either part, that the wires "ABCDEFG" match the switch in that order.
