Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

Hi, when I try to run a report, say Profit and Loss, in Sage Instant I am getting this message headed ''SGREP32''. The details are: c:Program FilesSageInstant AccountsReportsFinance\*PNL.SRT contains an invalid path. One of your techs told me it looked like I copied the program but I am pretty sure I installed the disc when I moved laptops, took a backup of the original and restored this. So I looked in this directory"C:\Program Files\Sage\Instant Accounts\Reports\Finance" and in here are Report Designer Files. This seems to be the same for all the sub-directories ie Suppliers and these reports are working fine. It just seems to be the reports under Financials (except for calculating VAT). I am using Windows XP. Thx THIS IS THE ANSWER I GOT FROM ONE OF YOU GUYS Hi, lets get you some help This could be one of 3 things 1. when you moved the data from your old machine it did not move across correctly. If the data has not changed and you still have access to the old machine you can back the data up and move it across. 2. Sage is configured to look for some of its information on a network drive or a separate hard disk (c: d: etc) and the new machine does not have the same network drive mappings. you need to have the network drive mapped for sage to access the data as it existed on the old machine. 3. The integrity of your data in Sage is compromised. Can you print the P& L for any period? If you cannot that suggests it is not accounting data that is corrupt rather it is something shown on every report - could be as simple as a link to a corporate icon. You need to check the configuration of these reports to see where it is trying to get data from. THIS IS MY LATEST RESPONSE TO THE ANSWER I GOT Hi there, I have uninstalled Sage and reinstalled it without restoring the data for the company. It is a blank company now and I tried the report again and it's giving me the same message so it's not the data from the previous company. I see your comments 2 and 3 above but don't know how to do either. Can you give me more detailed instructions? Thanks NO ANSWER YET SO NOT SURE IF THIS GUY IS STILL ABOUT. COULD SOMEONE ELSE HELP? MANY THANKS

Hi, I need someone to explain in detail what I need to do as I'm ok with computers but no wiz! Thanks

  • deegeraghty Mar 23, 2011

Hi, sent you an email on that now. Thx

  • deegeraghty Mar 23, 2011

Hi, the R&D printer is no longer. The old laptop was one I inherited from my past job where it would have been networked. My laptop is stand alone now. The 2nd one referring to Line50 is I would imagine Sage Line50 which I don't have but may have been part of the old job also. Can I get rid of these now and how do I do it?

  • deegeraghty Mar 23, 2011

I created those folders but no joy. I won't be able to get that system as it's an accounting package and costs 300 euro!

  • deegeraghty Mar 23, 2011

    Thanks anyway!

Hey,

While this is probably not the standard way to solve this problem, could you email me the PNL.SRT file or put it online somewhere for me?

I'd take a look and see if I can get the paths from it and then we can check that they are correct and remove any invalid entries, now I can't promise that we will be able to do that, but its something to try.

if you don't have any place to put the file to, if its small, (less or around 10MB) you can email it to me at nikoht@gmail.com

also you could check System Properties/Advanced/Environment Variables/Path

Sorry didn't see your additional comments until now.

check your email I've responded. Very good timing.

  • Ekse Mar 23, 2011

incase my email went to spam or similar, here is what I wrote.

Hey, very good timing on your message.

I took a look at the file, while there is not much in there I see
two *paths* that might be the issue.

first one is \\R&D_PRINTER\HP -- do you still have a networked
printer under that path? if you do, is it set up to your computer?
If not - set it up.

2nd is c:\LINE50V9BETA\TEMPLATE does that exist? copy it from the
    original computer to this one.

those are the two paths that are readable from the file.

take a look at those two.

  • Ekse Mar 23, 2011

while I can't remove those paths from the file, try creating a new folder on c:\ name it line50v9beta then create another folder inside of it and name it template. see if that helps. Or if possibly get the program that is missing. I don't think the printer is required.

  • Ekse Mar 23, 2011

It looks to me like the data backed up requires the additional software. Sorry It looks like I can't help you, you could try contacting sage directly about it to confirm if that is the case.

  • Ekse Mar 23, 2011

no problem let me know if you have any additional questions or if anything else comes up.

Copying the files does not make the problem on your sage program but if the program is in the server, You need to mapped the driver where for your computer to be access.

2. Start Sage.
3. Restore a previous backup.

This worked for us. Hope it helps you.

When I try to print reports in the Financial window on Sage Line 50 I get an error message C Prog Files x86|AccRep\*TB.SRT contain invalid path. how do I fix?

find the TB.srt file and copy it into location should solve this. You may also have a problem with profit and loss and balance sheet as these are normally held in same location

C:\program\SAGE\ACCOUNTS\REPORTS\\*TB.SRT contains an invalid pat

This message usually comes when the target location is not there or is renamed OR the address is wrong. Open My Computer, and go to the address you gave. Look if there is the file named *TB.SRT.

And by the way... the address you gave was "
C:\PROGRAM\\SAGE\ACCOUNTS\REPORTS\\*TB.SRT" BUT I believe that the address should be "C:\PROGRAM\SAGE\ACCOUNTS\REPORTS\*TB.SRT".
It is not possible that the address contains 2 slash (\\) repeatedly. Open the file by going to the My Computer OR by opening the software and by locating the file manually from there.

live chat assistance costs $19.99. And $12.99 for one time e-mail premium support.

If you have a registered product then I would suggest you to visit:

There you might find a solution at no cost.

Please inform if your problem is solved or not. And please rate if you found the above info useful.

Error message with sage instant accounts

If you are unable to logon to Sage you can try deleting the Queue.dta file. All users MUST be logged out of Sage and Sage should not be running. Sage will recreate the queue.dta file when it is restarted. The Queue.dta file can be found in the ACCDATA folder for the Sage Company Data that is experiencing the problem.
Note that the "Username already in use" message from Sage can occur if Sage wasn't shut down tidily for that users session. If you are sure that the user is not actually logged in it's OK to allow Sage to clear the session and log in.
