No audio device intalled

ometimes error messages such as 'No Audio Device is Installed' or 'Audio service is not running' occur when opening the volume control by double-clicking the volume icon from the system tray. To resolve the error, follow the steps below.
  1. Click Start , type services.msc into the search field, and then select services.msc from the list when it becomes available to open the Programs window.
  2. Grant permission to continue, if prompted.
  3. Scroll down to and select Windows Audio , right-click to open the drop-down menu, and then click Start . Figure 1: Starting the Windows Audio servicec00847914.gif
  4. Right-click Windows Audio , click Properties , and then verify that Startup Type is set to Automatic . The Windows Audio service is now running. The error message should close.

I cant hear sound in my presario f760ee laptopafter install windows xp

There can be quite a few causes for that.
Start by checking if the audio driver is installed and if the audio device is working (in the Device Manager).
You should also check the Windows Audio service, if it is not running you will not have sound.
Other than that, the basic sound settings need to be checked.
Here is some more detail on the steps:

HP 6000 no audio output installed

You could try to roll back the driver on the Audio Card. Or go to the HP website and download the driver again and reinstall?
Last thing you could try is uninstalling the update itself.

I have reformatted my presario f700 laptop (compaq) from windows vista home premium to windows xp professional and after reformatted, a problem occur regarding audio device/sound is not functioning. please...

If your using a card take it out until you have XP installed.
Go into your bios and disable all your audio settings until you have XP installed.
Check and see if your audio is even compatible with XP.
Disconnect the any external devices that are connected to the audio input until XP is installed.

My sound isn't working

Make sure mute isn't on in ANY way. Make sure your keyboard doesn't have a mute and the volume control is ALL the way up. Make sure too that you are on the correct sound device.

Once i selected a Screen device for a sound device by accident and i was freaking out. I did all the steps I told you above and I figured it out xD

Hope this helps you!
