Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Find the RESET or Restore to Factory settings button on the router. With the Router powered, hold the button in for 15 seconds or until the light pattern changes, then release.

You'll need to re-do your router setup after it's up and running again.

Router shows a strong signal but when i connect i get a message "no internet access"

1. Using a computer that is plugged into the router directly with a network cable, open a web browser.

2. In the "Address Bar" type http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter.

3. A box should appear asking for a "User Name" and a "Password". Leave the "User Name" field empty, and type your WRT54G router password into the "Password" field (the default "Password" is admin) and click the OK button or press [Enter].

4. The WRT54G "Setup" page should now appear. Click onto the Wireless page.

5. When the "Wireless" page loads, you should be on the Basic Wireless Settings sub-section.

6. Look for the "Wireless Channel" option. The default channel is set to "6 - 2.437GHz". Change it to either "1 - 2.412GHz", or "11 - 2.462GHz".

7. Click on the Save Settings button toward the bottom of the page to save changes. Click Continue when prompted to reload the page.

8. The channel of your WRT54G has now been changed. Restart your wireless computers so that they can automatically connect using the new channel.

9. If you still experiencing interference using channels 1, 6, or 11, try switching the router to the other channels as well (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10) and find one that captures a good connection.

On my windows xp it says my internet is working but when i try and open a internet page it says it cannot load, please help

FIRST POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Determine which version of IE you have installed. To do so, click "Help" on the IE toolbar and then click "About Internet Explorer." The version will appear in a dialog box. Go to the Microsoft website and upgrade to IE version 7 if you are using an earlier version. By upgrading, you may be able to resolve your IE problems. Repair damaged files automatically using IE 7's "Reset" feature. Go to the "Tools" menu and click "Internet Options." Click on the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Reset" button. Close all other programs if asked, and then click "Reset" to confirm that you want to reset IE and repair the files. Use XP's System File Checker to resolve IE problems. Click "Start" and then "Run." In the "Open" box, type "sfc /scannow" and click "Go." The System File Checker will scan your computer, finding and repairing damaged or missing files. Restart your computer after the process is finished. Update Windows XP to make sure you have the most recent service pack installed. Go to the Microsoft Windows, check for any available updates and install them. SECOND POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Make sure your computer is not too far away from your wireless router and you have a good signal. By placing your mouse pointer over the wireless connection icon, located in the bottom right corner of your taskbar, you can check to see if your signal strength is good. Anything less than a good signal can cause intermittent connections. SOLUTION: You will need to relocate your wireless router closer to your computer. If you have a 2.4 GHz wireless home phone, take notice if you lose the internet connection when placing or receiving a call. These wireless phones interfere with wireless routers because they both operate on 2.4GHz frequencies. If this happens you need to power down the router and then turn it back on. This will happen occasionally but not all of the time. SOLUTION: (1) upgrade your wireless phone to 5.8GHz, (2) use a corded phone or (3) use a wired internet connection to your router. If steps 1 and 2 did not solve your internet connection, borrow a friend?s laptop with a wireless card and see if their laptop can connect to the internet. Be sure to set your friends wireless connection settings to the same settings that your wireless card is set to. If your friend?s laptop connects to the internet then you may have a bad wireless card. Try reconfiguring your wireless card settings before going out to purchase an external wireless card. If your friend?s laptop can?t connect to the internet, try resetting the router to the factory defaults. Change the settings on the wireless card to the same settings as the factory default on the wireless router. If this works you are back in business. If it does not work for either computer, the wireless portion of your router is bad. SOLUTION: Purchase a new router or use a wired connection to one of your router ports.

Upgrading firmware

Downloading the Firmware Step 1: Before downloading the firmware, make sure that your computer has an active Internet connection. If your computer is plugged directly into the router and cannot get online, disconnect your router and plug your computer directly into your cable or DSL modem. Step 2: Once you are able to get online, click here to go to the WRT54G Version 5 Download page. Step 3: Click Download to download the firmware file. Approx. file size (Zip file): 1.39 MB If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Internet Explorer, you may see a 'Pop-up blocked' message in your browser Information Bar. If so, click the bar and select Temporarily Allow Pop-ups. Then, click the Download link again. Step 4: Click Save in the File Download dialog box that appears. Step 5: In the Save As dialog box, choose a location for the file (like the Desktop) and click Save. The wrt54gv5_fw_1[1].00.6_US_code.zip file will then be downloaded. When the download is complete, click Close if prompted. Step 6: Double-click on the wrt54gv5_fw_1[1].00.6_US_code.zip file and extract its contents to a single folder (or to the Desktop). NOTE: You will need to use a utility to open and extract files from the ZIP file archive. Popular software to use is WinZip®. For information on how to download WinZip®, visit the following website: http://www.winzip.com. You can also use the built-in unzipping features of Windows XP to unzip the contents from the archive. The following (3) files should be available: * wrt54gv5_fw_1.00.6_US_code.bin * Readme.txt * wrt54gv5_ver.txt Upgrading the Router's Firmware Step 1: Plug your computer directly into Port 1 on the back of the router. Step 2: Make sure that the router's power is plugged in. Step 3: Open Internet Explorer. Type http://192.168.1.1 into the Address Bar and press [Enter]. Step 4: You will be prompted to enter a username and a password. Leave the username field blank, and enter admin for the password. Then, press [Enter] or click OK. NOTE: If you are asked for the password again, the router's default password was changed. Try a common password that you might have changed it to. If are still unable to log in, hold in the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, unplug the power to the router and then plug it back in. Then, try Steps 3 and 4 again. Step 5: When the router's web-based Setup page loads, click on the Administration tab. Step 6: On the Administration page, click on the Firmware Upgrade sub-tab. Step 7: On the Firmware Upgrade page, click Browse. Browse to the location where the firmware files were extracted, and select the wrt54gv5_fw_1.00.6_US_code file. When the file is selected, click Open. Step 8: Click the Upgrade button on the Firmware Upgrade page to start the upgrade. The upgrade will take a few minutes - please do not unplug the router's power cord or make any changes during this process. Step 9: When the upgrade has completed, the following message will appear: "Upgrade is successful. rebooting...." Completing the Firmware Upgrade Step 1: Close Internet Explorer. Step 2: Hold in the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, unplug the power to the router and then plug it back in. This step will ensure that the new firmware loads properly! When you are finished... The firmware upgrade is now complete! You can now use the router's Setup Wizard CD to configure your Internet service and set up your wireless connections.
