Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

ITunes Store .m4v videos do not play on iPod

Unable to view video downloaded from "iTunes U" store, even though it shows the format as .m4v, has right info (320x240 size etc) and plays on iTunes. Some .m4v downloaded from iTunes Store do not even copy to the iPod with the message that these cannot be played on this iPod !

I have the exact same problem. In fact, I stumbled upon this site searching for a solution. I have a 60GB iPod classic with the latest firmware update. It plays all other videos downloaded from iTunes U, but not the ones from Stanford. I checked the video file 'info' for frame size, rate and format - everything seems to be OK.

You should change the .m4v file into mp4 with ipod video converter. ipod only accepts video in .mp4 format.

ITunes does not support this player. To put music on the player you must copy the files from the folders where the music files are on your computer to the device mounted on your computer.

only 3rd generation iPod nanos can play video, and the video must be mp4, you can use itunes to sync video to ipod nano, just follow those steps:
1. Open iTunes and click "File" to add your videos to iTunes library.
2. plug in your iPod Nano to computer, then iTunes will detect your iPod Nano as a device.
3. Select your iPod Nano device on the left panel of iTunes, click "Movies" tab, check the videos you want to sync and click "Apply"

Video storage

To view the stored videos on your iPod they have to be in MP4 format. You can right click the video file in iTunes and click "Convert To iPod" or something similar. The only problem with this is some file types are converted without sound. To fix this download/purchase a Mp4 video converter and convert your files then sync them using iTunes.

To STORE the video file, but not be able to watch it, go to iTunes when the iPod is connected to your computer and check the "Removable Disk" (Or something similar, seeing how the software may have updated) option and eject your iPod. Reconnect your iPod and go to "My Computer" and you should be able to access your iPod as a removable disc.
