Question about Medion Computers & Internet

2 Answers

Hi, During startup, I inserted a USB memory stick and now my screen is all messed up. It is green during startup instead of blue, and in general there are too many green pixels. (and purple pixels too) I have tried to calibrate the colors but nothing seems to help. Is my screen broken or could inserting the memory stick during booting have caused some softwareproblem messing up my screen? And how do I solve it? thank you.

I should have given more information:
    - Medion Akoya Laptop (no external monitor)
    - nvidia GeForce
    - Things that are supposed to be completely black are now completely green.
    - The problem starts immediately when I start booting (eg the manufacturer screen) so before windows is started.
    ---
I tried system restore as Ragoney suggested, no improvement

Remove the memory stick then try to boot up again, if still the same try to boot up under advance boot options, pressing "F8" repeatedly on the way up of boot up (from off to on) go to safe mode then try a system restore, see if that helps

Remove the video cable and plug it back after 10 seconds. Could be a bad hardware contact.

Seems to me that you still have a hardware problem: LCD screen, video card or cables. This is not a software issue, trust me.

  • garsonfixya Mar 23, 2011

You can try to close and open the laptop's lid (the LCD screen) for 2~3 times and see if this will solve your problem temporarily.

  • Carl Salaets Mar 23, 2011

Definitely a hardware problem: external monitor works just fine.

Opening and closing the lid doesn't solve anything though :(

Sorry. :( I hope you still have your warranty.

N15235 Foxconn- when i switch the pc on everything works except there is no screen

First step, pull the RAM (all of it) and see if you get the 3 beep issue again. If you do, install one stick of memory and see if the computer comes on. If not change that stick for another, and repeat untill the computer boots or you have tried every stick of RAM. If you have tried every stick of RAM try a different slot, and repeat one stick at a time. If when you have all the memory out of the computer, it does not do the 3 beeps, then you have a possible power supply issue, or some type of damange to the motherboard. Damage to the motherboard would include but not be limited to; static discharge during cleaing or memory installation. Cable beining lossened during the process (easly fixed by making sure all cables are snug). Resistor or other component lossed or detached from motherboard.

I have included everything I could think of here. If during the steps above you find more information, please provide it and I will try to point you in a different direction.

Won't load the operating system

try booting into safe mode, and uninstall the program

to do this: right before the windows xp logo shows, rapidly hit F8 on the keyboard, you should get a screen that shows the advanced startup options, after you see this, use the arrow keys to select 'Safe Mode' and hit enter, the computer should boot successfully and you can uninstall the program.

NOTE: if you hit F8 too late, perform a cold-reboot (hold down the power button until the computer is off and then turn back on) and try again

My volume touch pad does not work correctly with my volume icon on my desktop. By this I mean: The blue lights that turn off and on when you turn down or up the volume do not work correctly. I will have it...

yes mine did that too, i believe that it has something to do with messing with the volume before the drivers load, that means that if you mess with the volume in a different operating system, during boot, at the welcome screen, or during shutdown....you miss align the pad lights with the OS volume level, so next time you shut down drop your vol. in the software to ZERO, then on startup get the touch pad to ZERO, (not mute) before windows fully loads and you login

Stick the microchip into the adapter(s) and insert it into a sd slot on your computer if you have one. If you dont have an sd slot, they sell external systems for sd cards at any electronic store that carries computers such as best-buy. This should FixYa!
