The problem is as a result of software corruption. Your phone operating system is corrupt for one reason or the other. The phone operating system might have gotten virus through bluetooth transfer, internet browsing or via the memory card.

I would have suggested you have it flashed but you've flashed it already. But this is what I usually do if flashing doesn't solve a problem like this.

Remove the battery. After that, get a phone screw driver, unscrew all the phone screws, remove the phone cover in order to gain access to the phone panel. Gently remove/detach the screen from the phone board.

Get a methylated spirit and a soft tooth brush, dip the tooth brush into the spirit and use the brush to clean the phone board. Wash/brush every part of the board with the spirit.

After that, dry the board under an electric bulb or under sunlight. Allow it to dry very well. Let the board get hot. Then leave the board for 30mins or more to cool.

After that, couple back the phone, fix in the battery and try again.

If the above doesn't work, then maybe you can flash the phone elsewhere distinct from where you have been flashing it before.

Good luck.

The phone won't turn on (or off)

I have a Droid Razor (you can't remove the battery) that did something similar about a year ago. If you turned it off, it would only turn on when it was good and ready. No matter how many times you pushed the on/off switch.

I took it to the Verizon store, it did it one time for him to see, then, we couldn't get it to do it again. It hasn't done it since. He noted it as being in the warranty period so that I could get it replaced if it came back. It never did. It will be time to upgrade it in May.

Screen locking

it probably needs to be reset by taking the battery out for a few minutes or you can try checking to see if there are any software updates for the phone

Droid 3 froze on welcome screen

Did you try to root it and flash a corrupt flash? If not then I suggest that you Google "Factory Reset Droid 3" and follow those instructions to reset the phone to factory then input your google account information and contacts and such will re-sync. You will have to reload your apps and such so be warned. This is the only thing I have ever seen droids hang because they cannot finish booting because of corrupt image/flash.

Hi, when a phone randomly freezes, it means that the phones memory is faulty or when an application you downloaded has virus.

What to do is this,

You will have to flash the phone to restore the memory of the phone.

You can use this link to see how to flash your phone

My droid eris will not power on, the screen freezes at the 3 little droid men and won't advance further

Try pulling the battery out for at least 15 seconds and the put it back in and reboot.
If that doesn't work, try resetting it by holding the volume down button and the Send button, then while holding both those buttons, press the End key.
If worse comes to worse, go to the Verizon store and see if they can help.

Droid screen dims to fast in phone mode. Is there a setting to change this?

I'm not too familiar with the Droid but newer phones have a sensor that will turn the screen completely off when its put to your ear. Is there a specific reason you need to watch the screen? Somewhere in settings, under power or power management there should be backlight settings. I know the Droid experiences battery issues and under heavy use will discharge quickly, the backlight may turn off quickly to help preserve the battery.

Droid (2 GB) Cell Phone: droid constantly makes noise - the droid sound, ho...

From the home screen, go to Settings> Sound & display> Notification ringtone> then you can select "Silent" if you don't want any "Droid" noises when you get text messages, etc., or you can select a different notification sound.

Hope that helps!
