Hp deskjet F380 is not copying.

Hello, it seems that this is a common issue with the HP F380.
Try a hard re-boot of the printer. power off the printer and hold the power off button for about 30 seconds, release and wait another 30 seconds. Power on the printer and see if it will copy.

if that does not work, disconnect from the PC, and use the copy button.

Please let me know what happens.

My hp deskjet f380 cant power normally, all lights are always blinking.

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

Remove the cartridges from the F380 printer.

  • 2

Position the cartridges so they are right side up and the gold leads are facing you.

  • 3

Place a small piece of tape over the gold contact in the top left corner of each cartridge.

  • 4

Place the cartridge back in the F380 printer. The printer automatically prints an alignment page.

  • 5

Remove the cartridges. Place a piece of tape over the gold contact in the top right corner of each cartridge.

  • 6

Place the cartridges back into the F380 printer. The F380 prints another alignment page.

  • 7

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove both pieces of tape from each cartridge.

  • 8

Insert the cartridges into the F380 printer. The printer prints a cartridge alignment page. Each cartridge is now recognized as a full ink cartridge.

I am getting a red light and an E showing where the # of copies should be. What is wrong? It is a HP F380

You have a problem with your print cartridges. Please check to see if the print cartridge door is open. If that does not solve it, please refer to this document on the HP web site on how to resolve printer cartridge conditions.

Though the title of the troubleshooting guide says HP DeskJet F300, the symptoms described in your request for help exactly match the descriptions contained here.

    Good luck !

I have a HP F380 All in One Deskjet Printer Mac OS 10.5.8 Printing for over 2 years using Airport Scanning I need to connect by usb Issue: I reset the settings and can't find the driver I used to...

    Hi,

    Thanks for using Fixya.
First, Uninstall your HP F380 and then again reinstall it.

If your printer is connected via usb to airport extreme you will have to download and install the following.
    1. espgs-7.07.1.ppc.dmg

    2. hpijs-foomatic-2.0.2.ppc.dmg

Do this by going to The Linux Foundation (http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs)

Install in the order listed above, they both must be installed for this to work.

    Then do the following:

    1. Go to > system preferences > print & fax

    2. Click "+" to add a printer

    3. The HP F380 will be listed with the connection type "Bonjour"

    4. Highlight this printer

    5. At the bottom of the window you will see the option for "Print Using" and than you can choose something from the drop down menu.

    6. Scroll down to "HP" and choose that

    7. This now propagates a window full of HP printers including the HP F380 drivers that you installed above.

    8. Scroll down until you see "HP F380 FOOTMATIC" and highlight this.

    9. Click "add".

That's it, your done and it should work.
Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

HP DESKJET380 NOT RESPONDING WHEN CLICK ON PRINT

After sitting in power save mode for a long period of time the printer might not function properly. This happens when the printer is plugged into a surge protector. Unplug from the surge protector and plug directly into the wall power socket.

    Step 1:

Please try to print Self test Print from the Printer (without PC ie. remove the USB cable from the PC)

    Step 2:
If the Self test Print is Ok, try to connect your printer to PC
    and Print Test Page
Go to Start >> Printers and Faxes >> Select your Printer F380
then Right click Properties and Click on "Print Test Page"
If this prints Ok then all the connections you have made are correct
In case, it does not print then please check your USB cable try to change it

    Step 3:
    You can uninstall your Driver
and install the new driver, to download the driver for F380 All in One Printer Please click the below link
    Choose appropriate Operating System
HP F380 All in One Printer Driver

I hope this will resolve your problem

    Status: offline/online

    Hi,

One way to make the printer go "on-line":
    1. opening your "Printer & Faxes", the HP DeskJet F380 would be shown as an installed printer, by doing a right click, you would be presented with various options including making it go online.

There are two (2) areas that you can configure to make it stay always online:
    i. in the same "Printer & Faxes", right click on the HP DeskJet F380, click on "Properties", in the next window click on the Advanced tab, tick "Always available", set Priority to "1", in the "Printer" tab, uncheck "Power Save".
ii. open your "Device Manager" (right click on "My Computer", click on Properties, click on "Hardware" tab, click on "Device Manager" button. Expand your "Universal Serial Bus controllers" (click on the + sign of the last entry), right click on each and everyone of your "USB Root Hub". Click on "Properties", click on "Power Management" tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
After each and every re-configuration it is of course required that you click on Apply/OK.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Good luck and kind regards.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

    I have experienced this before...
Disconnect the printer and remove the installed drivers, that is to remove the virus-infected file or a corrupt printer driver.

Now re-install the printer and the driver.
