Only 70 Sets Allowed Problem

Many of the Nokia Series40 user having the problem of only 70 sets allowed which does not allow user to save the new settings.

How this problem occur:
Every time a new configuration setting is saved in s40 mobile, it makes a new folder in phone memory, it remain there even if you delete that configuration and the maximum limit is only 70 folders.

So if you are facing this problem you can solve it by formating your mobile phone but the entire data from your mobile will be deleted (contact, messages, configuration settings etc.). So here is the simple way to overcome this problem without formating.

Requirements :
  • A PC with atleast 256 MB RAM
  • Original Nokia Data Cable
  • Mobile media browser like "Oxycube" [Size: 28.7 MB]. Click Here to Download.
  • Nokia PC Suite.
Lets Start the steps to solve this problem.

1. Download and install Oxycube.
2. Connect your phone using bluetooth or data cable.
3. Now in Oxycube, Go to Phone memory "C" in which u find a folder "omadm".
4. In that folder there are 70 folders naming 1 to 70.
5. Delete some of them & you are done.

Now you can save the new configuration settings.

Whenever I get a GPRS settings from SMART and GLOBE network, my phone always pop the same phrase "70 sets allowed setting discarded now". How can I get rid of this problem?

Hi firstladyjum,

I'm assuming you are using a Nokia mobile phone.

Each time you change the SIM card onto the phone, GPRS settings are automatically saved in the phone memory. Your phone can save only 70 sets of GPRS settings and the 70 empty lots are used now. So now when you change the SIM, you automatically receive settings, and they cant be saved because the GPRS settings memory is full. Hence you get the message.

Follow the steps below to remove the settings:

2) You'll see the list of GPRS settings saved on your phone in this page.

3) Select each of the settings you want to remove by selecting OPTIONS > DELETE.

Next time you change back to another SIM card, the settings are saved in the empty lots you just created. Once they become full, the same message shows up again.

If this information was helpful, please rate it.

Thank you for using fixya,

Arun Zac

Only 70 sets allowed.settings discarded. get the above message whenever i try to save the settings sent by service provider.

This is because in you have more than 70 sets of GPRS/MMS settings in your mobile.
This mobile supports only 70 sets. Please delete some unwanted settings and save the settings of current service provider.

To delete please follow the steps,

Menu--->Settings--->configurations--->default configuration settings

Go inside this option and delete the unwanted settings. Then you can save the new settings and set the new setting as you default.
