Question about Uniden Lands Phones

I have a Uniden xdect r055 + 2 line one is VOIP lone line 2 is telstra line. When the telstra line is connected there is a loud buzzing on the line.What can I do to get this fixed. I have already exchanged the phone once. With the same results. There is no hum on either line when connected to a different phone.

Could be you do not have an inline filter fitted to the voice line. This should be on every voice handset sharing a data service as there can be interference between the 2 signals.

I have the same problem, just set up the phone yesterday. Very disappointed if it will not work as I expected.

Loud hum is usually foreign earth which could be water in telecommunications pits or other problem in exchange. To prove if phone or line is faulty-plug in another phone. If you have more than 1 phone in your property you would want to unplug them also and test from 1st socket.

you have to do it from the hand set, go into menu, using the arrows scroll down to date and time , use the arrows to select date , then hit select do the same for the time, then when the am option flashes use arrows then select , then its done , hope this helps

If your phone is provided by broadband then it is now a VoIP phone. In order to use your machine, you will need a fax gateway or a digital to analog converter. This will allow your fax machine with uses a analog line to connect to a digital VoIP line. You will need to connect your nbn provider.

My uniden xdect sse25 cordless doesn't ring for long enough before diverting to the answer machine I have mobility problems how can i extend the length of the ring


From the handset, press Select/Menu and then press the down arrow to get to Ans Setup. Press Select again. Go down to Ring Time. Then select the number of rings (6, 9, 12 or Toll Saver (TS)). Press Select then press Flash/Exit to exit the menu system. Toll Saver picks up after 2 rings if you have new messages or 4 rings if you don't. This lets you hang up before the answering system picks up if you are using the remote phone access feature.

Note: if you have Voice Mail from your telephone provider, you need to set that to a longer number of rings separately. Consult with your phone company on that option.

Hope this is solved for you. If not, I found the connection for the battery a little temperamental and had to play with it a bit before the connection worked properly

Recently bought uniden xdect 7055 plus two cordless & i have spent 2 hours trying to get to work but no such luck - seem i have to register my ID with telstra before they will connect me to my telstra...


The manual does not make it clear that you have to set the day/date/time option on the handpiece - not on the base unit (which you would think was the logical place).

The base unit has only three options under its menu (see page 9 of the Owner's Manual).

Cannot get a ring tone when receiving phone calls


I've found this to be a problem with regular phone lines (POTS) and Uniden phones. Uniden phones do not seem to support 90v @ 20hz ringing voltage / frequency. They work fine in every aspect except for ringing. These phones do work well with voip, where you aren't connected to the telephone company and have calls routed over the internet. The boxes that handle the voip calls generally produce less than 90v and work well w/ Uniden phones.

Call drop out after 5mins 30 secs


Hi Youradickhead, I have experienced similar problems previously with Telstra and it was not due to the D-link as far as could verify. It seemed to me that Telstra was able to detect that you were using your internet connection for phone conversations and drop your line. Alternatively it may have to do with the filters that they provide. Try it without the filter, i.e. connect your modem cable straight into the socket (cable port).
