Question about Invicta Diver 8939 Watch for Women

1 Answer

Hello! I bought the Invicta 8939 Ladies watch with 200m water resistance. The manual says that for most Invicta watches, you need to unscrew it first when adjusting the date or time. Mine doesn't screw/unscrew, it only has a position 1 and position 2. Is this correct? I'm scared about affecting the water resistance of the watch. Thanks.

Most good dive watches with a screw in crown need the crown to be pushed in and turned clockwise AT THE SAME TIME in order to screw in the crown fully and make the watch watertight.

When you want to adjust the date or time, you just rotate the crown counter-clockwise until it pops out a bit. If you gently pull the crown out to the first position you can turn it to adjust the date. If you pull the crown out farther, to the second position, then you can turn it to adjust the time.

Never take your watch into the water unless the crown is fully screwed in finger tight or water will get into the watch movement compartment and ruin it.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Once the crown threads catch when you are screwing it in, it should then take about 2 or 3 complete rotations of the crown to fully tighten it down. You should be able to easily tell when it is fully tightened as it will just stop and you won't be able to turn it any further with your fingers. DO NOT USE TOOLS to tighten it further, just make sure it's securely figer tight because you still have to undo it with your fingers next time you need to adjust the time. It may take a bit of practice at first to get the feel for screwing the crown in and out properly, but you will quickly get used to it. Good luck. ------Joe.

Oh, sorry about that. You can always take it in to a jeweller to confirm. They have to take the back off when they change the battery anyway, just ask him next time to have a quick look at the crown mechanism too while he is in there. He should be able to quickly tell you if something is wrong with the threads or if that particular watch just didn't come with a screw in crown. Good luck.

What battery is needed for the invicta lupah model #9818. Thank you

If you plan on CRACKING open your own watch... you are
going to need a whole lot more than the BATTERY NUMBER.

Your choices there are ... Contact INVICTA or
open the watch & look...

If you are really GOOD & know what you are doing...
and MOST PAID "professional" BATTERY CHANGERS
are not "GOOD"... you have just made a WATER-PROOF" watch... WATER-RESISTANT (at best)...

You want it done properly...
Take it to a WATCHMAKER... (not the dime store).

it's your watch... Good luck.

How do I set the time on an Invicta Pro Diver watch?

Depending upon the movement, most pro divers have a *****-down crown for water tightness. First unscrew the *****-down crown. You can then pull the stem out one or two clicks. The first click permits you to set the date by turning the crown one way or the other. The second click should permit you to adjust the time. Then push the crown back in, hold it down and ***** it down 4 water resistance. Be gentle when manipulating the crown and stem!

How do I wind my Invicta 1805?

My very brief research shows that the Invicta 1805 watch is driven by a Japanese quartz movement. That would certainly explain why you're having trouble winding it.

The easiest check for quartz vs. mechanical is to observe the second hand. If it pulses only one time per second--i.e., jumps one second at a time--then you're looking at a quartz movement (I'm ignore the rare and expensive mechanical jump movements). If it looks like the hand takes 4 or more little jumps to get from one second to another, you have a mechanical movement.

I HAVE AN INVICTA PROFESSIONAL AUTOMATIC MODEL 3744 GIVEN TO ME BY MY SON.HOW DO YOU SET THE TIME ON IT? DOES THE STEM PULL OUT TO SET OR DOES IT UNSCREW? THANS

I was not able find information on your specific model; only 2010 models seem to be listed on the website.

Instruction Manual for Invicta watches:

http://www.invictawatch.com/support_files/instruction_manual/Manual-HiRes.pdf

Go to page 8 of this file to identify the instructions for your watch. For most watches the crown pulls out for setting either to postion 1 or position 2.

Some Invicata watches do have Screw Down Crowns but this would be most likey on a Diver model, to help prevent water infiltration. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer.

I just bought a invicta watch and can not change the time the "crown" will not pull out into position 2

Try turning the crown wheel anticlockwise. This is a feature that is sometimes included to insrease the water resistance of the crown wheel seal.

Just bought an Invicta 8926 can't get the crown to pull position 2 or 3. It is screwed down tight. Is it supposed to be turned counter clockwise to release the crown or is it just supposed to pull out...

Watches vary in design but those that have a high degree of water resistance often screw the crown in.

Try turning the crown anticlockwise before pulling it out.

Some winders need to be unscrewed (its a water resistance feature).

Try turning the winder anticlockwise about a quarter of a turn or so.

(Don't forget to screw it back in when you have finished!)

How to set a invicta 3443 watch up

To set the time pull the crown out to the first position and set the time by turning the crown. Pull the crown out to the second position to set the date. Since this is a diver model you will need to unscrew the crown before it will pull out. Make sure you replace the crown and screw it back down for a good protective seal.

The alarm sets the same way. Unscrew the button to set.
