Denon AV Surround Receiver AVR-486 w/DSW-76 Subwoofer
I already did the reset process and there was no change. The Subwoofer will come on for a while and then go off. The green power light remains on. When you turn the power off on the subwoofer you can hear it power down. Any other recommendations. I don't know if the problem is the subwoofer or the receiver.

Disconnect all of your speakers(subwoofers)then turn the receiver on. If it still
does it, then bring it into service. If not, that you have a short
somewhere probably the main board and there are no home remedies for this.

The surround sound outputs outputs ic's in the remainder of the system have opened, or there is a short in the speaker wiring, check to make sure that is not the case, if okay! you will need a repairman to assess the situation.
Page 10. The S-302 uses a proprietary D-Sub25 system cable to the DSW-S302 subwoofer. Don't know if or why it has more than 2 active conductors. The other speakers have removable cable ends so they might work just fine.
Long and painful answer!!! However, in the end, you need to bypass HDMI thru your receiver and go direct to the TV. Connect Digital Coaxial or Optical for audio to your receiver. Your version of HDMI in your receiver is not compatable with today's HDMI version. Yours is 1.1a and the current version is 1.3b going to 1.4. If you want detailed info as to "why", just google "HDMI 1.1 problems" you can read for hours! Sorry for the bad news! However, it is what it is. Hope this helps. If you need further help with setup, post a comment and I can give you further help.
If the surround back is turned on,on the receiver, then the 7CH stereo will activate
the 2 rear, but if it's off on the receiver
the 5CH on the remote will do the same.

@ the 3rd. top right button on the remote.
