Your scanned documets are by deault going in user's profile, you have to find it,
mostly the path is
c:\documets and settings\<choose your user name>\here somewhere you will find.
or
open scaner software and check defualt settings, you will surely find the deault path.

Hi,
Follow these steps to scan using HP software:Step one: Load the item to be scanned
  1. Make sure that the product is connected to the computer.
  2. Turn on the product.
  3. Load the item in the document feeder tray or on the scanner glass
Tip

Load the following items in the document feeder tray :

  • Single items
  • Items that are not easily damaged
  • Multipage, single sided items that you want to scan into one file
Load the following items on the scanner glass :

  • Single items
  • Items that are easily damaged, such as old documents and photos
  • Multipage, double sided items that you want to scan into one file

  • Option one: Document feeder tray
    1. Place the item into the document feeder tray. The printed side faces up and the top edge goes into the tray first.
    2. Adjust the width guides to fit the item.
  • Option two: Scanner glass
    1. Open the scanner lid.
    2. Place the item with the print side down on the scanner glass. For the correct position, see the engraved guide near the corner of the glass.
    3. Close the scanner lid.
Step two: Scan the item Use one of the following methods to open the HP scan window:

Click the scan option for the item you are scanning. note.png NOTE:Depending on your HP product, you might not have all the following scan options available. c02448891.gif

Save as PDF Use this setting to scan text documents that are not editable. Use the Save as Editable Text (OCR) option to scan text that you can edit. c02448892.gif

Save as JPEG Use this setting to scan pictures and images.
Hope this information will be helpful.

The scan button is setup to push the scan to an application, if you uninstalled the HP scanning software, it isn't going to go anywhere. If you didn't, it will put it into your documents folder under "My Pictures" in an HP created folder.

That said, you can also go into any application, like Word. then click "Insert > Picture > From Scanner or Camera" and carry the image in directly.

Scanning to computer

I had the same problem until I set up the various choices using the HP software on the computer. It then saves Scan to Computer as "x" file (your choice). Save your settings in the HP Solutions Setup Center. Then, when you check your printer, they will all be there as choices when you select Scan button.

System restore cant restore computer to earlier times and ad-aware freezes mid scan

Go to a friends computer and search for "Trinity Rescue CD version 3.3", try to get build 321 or greater. Burn the ISO file you download on to a CD blank and then set the computer to boot from CD (This setting should be in the BIOS settings). Boot with the Trinity Rescue CD you just created and make sure the computer is plugged into a known good network connection (not a modem connection but a cable or DSL connection) chose item number 6 (I think) on the menu. Item #6 should be "Virus scan non-interactive" Be aware that you only have 10 seconds to choose the item you want from the menu before Trinity Rescue CD boots. use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move up and down the menu. After you choose Virus scan non-interactive, the computer will reach out to the internet and update it's virus checkers and scan your computer for viruses and rootkits. This might take a while. If you have a larger hard drive (80GB or larger) try this before you go to bed and let the Virus scan run all night. When it is done scanning (it will scan your hard drive with 5 different virus scanners) it will have a command prompt (DOS) type screen type "exit" and remove the CD and reboot your computer using the hard drive and THEN try to run Lavasoft ad-aware or Spybot Search and Destroy.

Do not scan black color

When scanning small or very dark images, its a good idea to place the item to be scanned on the glass, then place 8.5x11 white paper over the top of it.
This gives the scan software "edges" that it can recognize, and once scanned the image can be "cropped" to remove the white from its border.
This has worked on all (4) the different brands I use.
