Possible there is some shorting caused by an internal or external short. It is important to see that there is moisture in the circuit and is activating the camera. so use a hair dryer to heat off the any traces of moisture so that it can be proved . If this wont work then the fault is in the circuit and it can be that the processor is not resetting and has some errors.
In this case the camera needs to be checked for the functioning of the processor and circuit.

IPICS ON SD CARD DO NOT SHOW ON PLAYBACK OLYMPUS 8010

Many cameras will only display pictures taken by that camera (or at least the same model). Also, if a picture has been edited in any way (opening a pic in a photo editor and saving it without making any changes counts as editing) then the camera will not display it.

Olympus Stylus 850 SW LCD screen will not turn on. The camera itself will turn on and take pictures but i must do it blindly. i cannot see the pictures nor can i see through the lens.

If you camera is built with a viewfinder there is usually an option to de-activate the lcd screen. Usually if you press the display or play button on the back it will re-activate. Also try to access any of the menu's by pressing the menu button. If this does not work also then the LCD is probably bad or not making connection. You would have to find a local service center for repairs. www.phototech.com is the local service center in NYC or you would have to send directly to Olympus in Woodbury Long Island.

Good Luck

My computer doesn't recognize my olympus stylus 8010. Will a card reader alone solve this problem, or do I also need a memory card for the camera? Can I change the setup on the camera so the computer...

In order to use a card reader, you must have a card to insert into it. If you've been using the camera without a card, you've been saving the pictures to the camera's internal memory. In order to get at those, you need to copy them to a memory card first. Your owner's manual will explain the procedure. typrice_168.jpg

My olympus e-500 will not display an image before taking a picture. Display is working for menu, review, etc.

In order for your camera to display the scene on the screen before you take the picture (the way point-and-shoot cameras work) it would have to have a feature called "live view". Your camera, as far as I know, doesn't have it.
