Have you loaded the drivers for them? You might have to turn off the bios setting for them too depending on what cpu you have.

No sound and no internet connection after clean and reinstall xp pro.

After reinstalling your xp, the next thing to do is install the drivers of your motherboard. the drivers include lan card and sound card drivers. The lan card needs to work so you can explore the internet.. while the sound card needs to work so there will be sounds on your speaker.

If you don't have the drivers,, I can help you get one just tell me the model of your motherboard. and or sound card and lan card..

Hope this help.
Much appreciated if you could rate this help. thanks

LAN connection won't work, but wireless does

It sounds like the LAN card may be going bad. You can see if manually setting the IP address in the settings of the LAN card will work. If that works, then the card's routine for negotiating IP address assignment is corrupted. You maybe able to get some more useful life out of it by doing this until you can replace the LAN card itself. If you need more instructions on how to set the IP address manually, reply back and I'll try to step you through it.

My dell lan card is not working,i cannot connect to internet.

Either the LAN card is faulty or the LAN driver is not installed and/or not configured properly or the LAN cable is faulty.
Check Device Manager to see if the LAN driver is installed, working and enabled. If not then re-install the LAN card driver.
If the LAN driver won't install or detect the LAN card then it maybe faulty and needs to be replaced.
Try a different LAN cable.
Is all the LEDs on in the modem?
Try rebooting the modem (power it off for 30 secs and power it up again).

Try updating the drivers.

Visit Sony's support site, find your model, find the sound and lan drivers, install and let me know if that solves your problem.

Definition of the sound card, internet lan & wireless lan

The definition of the sound card, is a chipset integrated into the main board of your laptop, in order to provide sound to your built-in speakers, or to the headphone jack on your laptop. Internet LAN (or Local Area Network) is a port located either on the side or the rear of your computer, where you would plug in a Cable/DSL High-Speed Internet connection, using an Ethernet cable (also called RJ-45). Wireless LAN is the same idea, only instead of using an ethernet cable to provide you access to the internet, it uses a wireless signal or radio frequency, to connect to a wireless access point (usually provided by a wireless router in the area). Sound driver installation & how to attech internet, hub with lan

Sound Driver:

Download the right Sound driver from manufacturer web site.

look for the Model number and right operating system

after you download it..all you have to do is run the program

if your question is how to find your sound card's Manufacturer and model, some of them have prints of model and manufacturers name on the card.

if your sound card is built in to mother board...check the mother boards manufacturer and go to their support web site...and download the driver.

installing HUB/Switch to your current LAN is plug and play, just connect the network cable (patch) to the router
