Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

While watching a dvd on the Q2035a I was using a seperate dvd player and I use a universal remote for both the dvd player and Q2035a. I began to adjust settings for the dvd player using the univ. remote. I noticed that I was in Tv mode instead of dvd mode and then the tv just went of all by itsself. The manual power button no longer works on the Q2035a. I unpluged the tv and pluged it back in and the tv automatically turned on to a black screen but you can hear it as being on and the green led indicater is lit. Still the manual power button does not work and neither does the menu. when the ch + or ch- is pressed on the tv it powers off. I repeated this several times and still it does the same thing. There is also no sound. DVD Player checks out fine and I tried other devices and got nothing. WHAT HAPPENED? is it a coincidence that a major component went out while I was mistakingly changeing menu features of which I have no clue what menu features I changed because I was looking at the remote. I had the dvd player menu function access memorized. Is it also possible I changed a setting that is somehow giving me this problem. Thank you for your time and I am looking for an answer to my biggest question. IS THERE A RESET BUTTON INSIDE THE TV/ I had also unpluged it for a little more than 24 hours and that did not work either.

Hello, It sounds like when you pressed the remote you inadvertently changed the scan on the ctv. This can cause the ctv ( colour tv ) to change from say ntsc to pal or similar. Even a reset button wouldnt help as it sounds like it is within the setup menu. You could try, as I have done this myself with a similar problem, disconnecting your dvd and putting it aside. Then, pressing the remote when in tv mode and watch for any change in screen flicker etc. If you have the original remote for ctv use that. If as you say, the tv goes to standby mode, you may have damaged the power supply, as the power supply will shut down to standby at any sign of a short.

Sanyo dvd/vcr combo

Your universal remote would have seperate selection buttons for VCR and DVD. If you don't have a VCR button, use AUX. Try programming each function seperately - DVD code for your manufactirer on the DVD button and VCR code for your manufacturer on the VCR button.

I need the universal code for my bush dvd player?

TRY THIS. It works on my Philips DVD player: To make some DVD players play disks from different regions. 1. Connect DVD to TV ensuring both are then switched on. 2. Press "OPEN/CLOSE" button on DVD player. 3. Enter "8421" using remote control. 4. While watching TV screen repeatedly press "Select" on remote control until region 9 is reached.  5. Press "OPEN/CLOSE".

Remote stolen

Usually pressing the record button a few times will change recording increments on all machines. Some newer universal remotes that have codes for dual dvd/vcr machines will work not older remotes.

Is there a channel to go to when you want to watch from a dvd player?

The VCR will most likely see the DVD player on AV1 try and find a button marked "input" or "av" on either the universal remote or on the VCR itself.
