It may be more trouble than it's worth to purchase a replacement. Simply use the duplicate cover that you fabricated. But to get your camera to work, you'll need to find some way to push in the door's safety pin switch seen in the lower left corner of the below picture. Try wedging a small piece of paper (spitball) in there to close the switch. That should allow the camera to work with your duplicate cover.

Supremo,
There are replacement parts available, but you would have to get them from an Olympus service center. I don't know that they ship them to you, but it never hurts to inquire!

Good luck!

Thank you.

Broke battery cover

And now you can't use the camera? the cover must be closed complete. There is a switch, to check if the cover is closed. this is checked, to prevent damage to the memory card. When the camera is powered down while accessing the memory, the already saved pictures can become damaged.
You better contact an authorised service centre, for a repair of the camera.

My kids accidentally dropped my Panazonic Lumix TZ-10 on the floor (not from a great height). The lens at that moment could only half close, but after turning power on and off a few times, now it opens and...

The warranty is unlikely to cover accidental damage but you could check if you have any insurance cover, perhaps in house contents or travel, or you might ask the retailer if he would help under 'goodwill'. It sounds as if the lens extension mechanism was pushed out of kilter and cannot now complete its opening cycle so...as a last resort...you could try taking out and replacing the card or gently waggling the extended lens to see if this could help. Hope you can get it working again!

The camera lense is stuck open and not will close

Hi! Better check it with qualified technecian. It might damage everything if you force it. The lense broke inside. It needs to be replaced or adjust the screw to lossen so that lens will go back to its original position.
Please feel free to comment.

Take a look at the suggestions at the top of page 122 of the Advanced Camera User Guide. The suggestion is that the cause may have been that the camera was still on when the memory card/battery cover was opened. Try closing the cover and then turning the camera off and then on again. Hope this helps.

Nikon coolpix L18 Screen has crack right across, hasn't been dropped or bumped

Chances are the manufacturer will not accept damaged screens. If you've got a new camera, try your luck. Cracked screens are highly unlikely as the screens are not under pressure or stressed from the way they are constructed. Much like the cellphone screens, they are pretty tough to break. I broke mine after more than 15 accidental drops.

"Card-cover open" error message

It's when putting the card in.. typically you put it in and it clicks (so to speak).. if you delay removing your finger-push, it does something to the card and makes a Disconnect, although in looking at it, it looks just fine.. and the cover closes... A lot of people are reporting 'door open' errors. The micro-switch in the door housing is quite sensitive and pressure shifts from your hand on the door can cause it to trigger as if the door were opened. some get progressively worse. One fix is to add a little bit of length to the plastic that contacts the switch, either a layer of tape or a drop of epoxy, etc. This may help (or may not if the switch itself is flaky). Another fix discussed bypassing the switch altogether, obviously not for the faint of heart (or cameras in warrantee).
