YOU CANNOT DISABLE THE GATE. TWO SPEAKERS HAVE A PROBLEM WHICH APPEAR AFTER 20 HR USE. THEY WOULD CRACKLE SPORADICALLY AT A LOW LEVEL. THEY HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED.NO LONGER AVAIBLE FOR USE.

I would check the source going to the gate because if the gate isn't open you would get no output. The gate acts almost as an on off switch. Make sure the gate has voltage, if it doesn't, it would not operate. also, make sure to be testing voltage on the emitter which is pin 3. In other words, the gate is required for triggering.

No more subs in jbl prx-512m

First check the speaker with a multimeter.

If it is OK, then check/repair the Class D amp that drives the speaker,

up to the input stage.

There are board part numbers printed on the PCB and some are

available on line.

Have a tech to guide you ,should you feel to Diy.

I have a pair of jbl 512m speakers one is louder than the other one but it works

Make sure your audio interconnecting cables are XLR or TRS balanced lines. Use of TS cables similar to guitar cables with only two conductors (only the tip and the sleeve) reduce the gain 6 DB and contribute to hum and noise.

My JBL plays but it cuts the play back frequently like it plays and stops, plays and stops, plays and stops so on .Whats the problem. Please help

Until this is fixed, I would not use it or you may blow up a speaker... Make sure you check that you are using BALANCED audio interconnect cables, either XLR or TRS balanced cables AND that ALL interconnected equipment is poowered by the SAME receptacle... yes you have to run extension cords, but the pro's do it to avoid ground bounce damage to their equipment. Use ONLY three wire power cords.

Got a "Dwell" effect when

It sounds like you have cable in the wrong ports. Make sure your cabling goes in to out on all ports. Also make sure no cable are bent or heavy equipment on top of it. If your getting sound but sounds like muted sound its either cable in the wrong place bad cable or amp setting is to low.

Noisegate on vyper tube 120 chokes note off on high gain settings to much for my taste

You are probablly overdriving the unit. Too much gain saturates the electronics. The noisegate really only works to eliminate noise when input signal is below a certain level... it is NOT used or effective when at high signal levels. If you set gain too high the tiny signals will open the gate. The noise gate will prevent low signals like guitar "handling" noise from passing through until you are actually playing the guitar. This is the purpose of the noise gate.

If you're using it for practice, then the following link should help:

If you can connect a computer or laptop to some bigger speakers, this should work just fine.

Hope that helped!

Hey, the clean channel on my Marshall 250dfx Combo amp isnt working the distortion and everything is working as normal, but the clean channel makes no sound at all, i was wondering if you can help?

The switching is done electronically by an analog gate chip. On IC9, check if the signal on pin 8 changes with switching between clean and OD... This is the actual signal that changes the gate. If you don't see a change there of say 5 volts, then the problem is in the circuits that drive this gate. If the signal is there, then the problem is in the clean channel audio op amps or the components around them. Let me know the results of the test.
