Hello, It sounds like the print head is blocked or lacking ink. When you buy a new printer they are only around 60% full from the factory. Try changing the cartridge or, get it refilled and see if that fixes the problem. Also try a test print and see how that looks. Nine times out of ten its the ink.

It lists the error conditions, describes the possible causes, and provides steps to resolve the conditions. Description of the control panel The control panel contains two lights and one lighted button. Patterns of light indicate printer status.Figure 1: Location of control panel c00007297.jpg 1 - Ready light 2 - Go button and light 3 - Attention light Figure 2: Light conditions c00007298.jpg 1 - Light off 2 - Light on 3 - Light blinking The following table explains the lights on the control panel. I have been using an epson stylus color 880 for years. One day it would not print. Replaced the cartridges and still will not print. It goes through the printing procedures but nothing shows up on...

The print head nozzles may be clogged. From the Utility section found in the EPSON printer driver, clean the print heads by performing a head cleaning followed by printing a nozzle check pattern. A head cleaning and nozzle check must be performed as a cycle. After printing a nozzle check, examine the printed dot pattern. Each staggered horizontal and straight vertical line should be complete, with no gaps in the dot pattern. If there are gaps in the dot pattern, continue with another cycle. Perform up to 3 cycles if necessary. If the nozzle check is not printing completely, and if the head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, try replacing the ink cartridge. Any ink cartridge installed into the printer must have a blue label on top of it. If the blue label has been removed from the ink cartridge, do not install the cartridge. Using an ink cartridge, which does not have the blue label on it, may damage the printer. Caution: If you have already installed a cartridge which is missing the blue label, or if a previously installed ink cartridge was missing its blue label at the time it was installed, and now head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, your printer may require service and you should contact the EPSON Connection for further assistance.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Colour ink not printing

If the printer is printing blank pages, make sure you are using the correct printer driver and make sure the paper size is correctly selected in the driver. If the printer is printing black only, the "Ink" option in the printer driver may be set to "Black" instead of "Color" or a setting in the software may be set to print black only. Also, the print head nozzles may be clogged.

If the nozzle check is not printing completely, and if the head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, turn the printer off overnight and try the cleaning cycles again.

Try a new ink cartridge. Also, make sure you are using a genuine ink cartridge and has the same number as your old catridge.

I have a Canon Pixma MP270 and I can only print in colour both the black and colour lights are lit up on the printer

f print quality does not improve by the standard cleaning of the Print Head, clean the Print Head deeply. Cleaning the Print Head deeply consumes more ink than the standard cleaning of the Print Head, so clean the Print Head deeply only when necessary.
1. Make sure that the power is turned on.

2. Clean the Print Head deeply. (1) Press the g0022565.png (Maintenance) button repeatedly until y appears. g0054776.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning the Print Head deeply. Do not perform any other operations until the machine completes the deep cleaning of the Print Head. This takes about 2 minutes.

3. Check the print head condition.

When the deep cleaning is completed, the LED returns to the copy standby mode. To check the print head condition, print the nozzle check pattern.

See " Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern".

If the problem is not resolved, turn off the power and clean the Print Head deeply again after 24 hours.
If the problem is still not resolved, replace the FINE Cartridge with a new one.

See " Replacing FINE Cartridges".
If the problem is still not resolved after replacing the FINE Cartridge, contact the service center.

Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern
Print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink ejects properly from the print head nozzles.

NOTE If the remaining ink level is low, the nozzle check pattern will not be printed correctly. Replace the FINE Cartridge whose ink is low.
See " Replacing FINE Cartridges".

You need to prepare: a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1. Make sure that the power is turned on.

2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.

3. Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

4. Print the nozzle check pattern.

(1) Press the g0020617.png (Maintenance) button repeatedly until A appears. g0054754.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.

The nozzle check pattern will be printed.

5. Examine the nozzle check pattern.
See Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern.

Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

Examine the nozzle check pattern, and clean the Print Head if necessary.

1. Check if there are missing lines in the pattern (1) or horizontal white streaks in the pattern (2). g0054755.png (1) Check if lines are missing in this pattern. If yes, the cleaning is required.
See " Cleaning the Print Head".

g0020623.png
(A) Good
(B) Bad (lines are missing)

(2) Check if horizontal white streaks are present in this pattern. If yes, the cleaning is required.
See " Cleaning the Print Head".

Canon MP510 skips and makes 2 small blank lines going DOWN the pages, in only cyan and magenta. The two lines show up on the Nozzle Check Pattern but only on cyan and magenta.

Banding as they call this and skiped print is probably caused by the the print head being PARTIALLY BLOCKED. Do a nozzle check and check the 4 colour matrix patterns that are printed out do NOT have ANY missing lines. Mine did till I used recovery fluid to soak the head over 2-3 days this cleared the problem completely.

I need to restore my i250 printer to factory settings after a "Waste Ink Tank full" message (parts are no longer made, so can't go via a repair service)

This is not very fun..

Goto this site and search service tool
http://www.coldreset.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=search&query=
when the search completes, you have to download parts 1-7 (scroll down the page to see the file links) (i haven't downloaded myself, so make sure you scan files for virus before opening)

This will give you the canon service tool you need to reset the printer. After download, follow these instructions:

1. Unzip the “i320-i255.rar/i320-i255.EXE” file.
(Automatically unzipped by double-click)
2. Open the “i320-i255.rar/i320-i255.EXE” folder created after unzipping.
3. Open the “GeneralTool.exe” file.
4. Select the connected USB PORT No. from “USB PORT” (A).
< How to print the shipment inspection pattern >
Select “TEST PATTERN 1” (B), and the shipment inspection pattern 1 will be printed.
< How to set the destination >
1. Select either of “1” or “2” from “SET DESTINATION” (C), and the destination will be set.
“PIXUS 350i”: Japan
“i355/i255”: Asia
“i350/i250”: Other than the above area
2. Confirm that the model name is indicated in the (E) area when clicking “DEVICE ID” (D).
Or, confirm the model name by performing the shipment pattern printing.
< EEPROM reset >
When printing the shipment pattern after the “EEPROM CLEAR” (F) check box is marked, the EEPROM
will be reset.

a little confusing, but it should work

Not printing in color

If the color was faded and the printing blurred, what I did was to check the nozzle pattern, align the print head and then calibrate the process. It's all in your manual. Once I completed those steps (just a few minutes), the printing was clear and the colors bright. Hope t his works for you.
