Plugged in, no sound out of them. all sound comes from tablet itself as if headphones are not plugged in. where are volume controls for these hdphnes? how no guidance provided on pkg or in it

Try another set of headphones in the device you are having a problem with. This will eliminate the device being faulty if another set of phones work with it.
Check the jack plug on the "non-working" phones is the same size and design (count the rings) as the working pair.
Try the "non-working" in a different device.

How do I get speakers working on 7.85 tablet?

Check the volume control, if the volume is up, then verify that the headphones work OK by testing them on another device.

You may need to power off/power on the device and try again.

Motorola xoom 2 hdmi port not working

I read you must press 'Volume Up' and the XOOM 'power' button at the same time, hold until M logo appears, in effect triggering a 'soft reset'. This has worked 2 out of 3 times. The time it did not work I theorize I didn't hold the buttons down until the reboot screen appeared.

When i put head phone in my laptop sound is coming from both sides , outside and also from headphone, how when inserting head phone sound should come from only headphone

On your audio device setting/configuration.Check to see if your headphones are set to be used as the 'default communication device" instead of the integrated sound, or if both devices are set to default. Choose the "headphones" as the default device so that windows will use them only when they are plugged in.

Headphone socket not working o laptop

The reason is most likely that your speakers are the default device for listening to sound. Go to the control panel > Sounds > Look at the devices listed, Highlight the headphones icon and select default, hit apply and ok.

Dell 610 lptop - haedphone not working,

First try uninstalling the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find and reinstall them, then check Dell's support site for updated sound drivers. If you find updated drivers you will need to use the update button for the device in the device manager. If this doesn't work, then it may be a faulty headphone jack. The jack should override the speakers when the headphones are plugged into it. If you can still hear the speakers with the headphones plugged in then the jack is faulty and needs replaced. If the jack does override the speakers or if you get some static then it could be that the jack has come loose or has a loose or broken wire. The only other thing is try a different set of headphones, sometimes laptops get picky and one set will work and yet another set may not.
