Question about Olympus Cameras
The red eye depends on what mode you are in. It may be selected automatically in a SCENE's Portrait mode or by one of portrait related dials on the top of camera. If you are in A, P, S, then you have to set it manually from the flash button or the menu.
I hope you are not confusing the Red Eye Reduction (Auto Flash) with the Pre-flash (Auto Illuminate), which is a similar flash mode typically used in Auto when the light is low to help the camera focus. This to can also be disabled in the Camera2 settings.
