Question about Kenmore 77632 Gas Dryer

1 Answer

Fuse was blown on gas dryer. Lint screen was full, but I have seen it worse.Could it be just a blown fuse or was it the ignighter or a further problem that caused the fuse to blow. If its just that, I'm fine with that, just want to be safe.

I would look closely at the lint filter housing. It is accessed by removing the rear panel. They get plugged up quite often, so I suspect this may be your issue.

Fuse is blown. does that mean a further problem?

Check your venting and lint filter housing to assure no lint building up inside. This is the primary cause of fuse failure.

My dryer is a kenmore 110.61082000 and it wont start. it keeps displaying check lint screen even though it is completely clean and the sensor bar is clean. what is wrong?

The thermal fuse located on the blower housing is blown and since it is wired in series with the motor, power to the motor is terminated, the motor will not run and no dryer function works. Disconnect power then pry the lower access panel off with a flat-head screwdriver as shown.

Remove the hex-head screw from the lint duct bracket and remove the bracket. Remove the two hex-head screws from the lint duct and remove the duct to expose the thermal fuse on the blower housing.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced along with the thermistor if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards. Lights turn on but dryer wont start

The problem is likely a blown thermal fuse. Disconnect power then access and bypass the thermal fuse on the blower housing. The blower housing is located on the front left bottom of the dryer cabinet if the dryer has the lint filter on the front or at the rear left bottom if the lint filter is located on the top of the cabinet.

Bypass the thermal fuse by disconnecting the wires and connecting them together. Insulate them properly and plug the dryer back in. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced if the dryer starts. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse bypassed due to fire hazards.

Let us know if the problem is not addressed above but indicate the exact model number of the machine for further advice.

My kenmore gas dryer end buzzer goes off and dryer shuts down before cycle is complete

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Kenmore gas dryer
  • Vacuum with hose attachment
  • Replacement fuse, if necessary
    Dryer Not Heating
  1. Remove lint from your dryer's lint screen. Remove the lint screen from your Kenmore dryer and vacuum the area behind the lint screen with your vacuum's hose attachment.
  2. Check to make sure that the dryer temperature is set appropriately, and has not inadvertently been turned to "Air Fluff."
  3. Ensure that the gas valve on the supply line to your Kenmore dryer is completely open.
  4. Check the room temperature in your laundry room to make sure that it is at least 45 degrees. Your Kenmore dryer will not operate properly at temperatures below 45 degrees.
  5. Make sure that the dryer outlet grill is not blocked by a fabric softening sheet.
  6. Dryer Not Running
  7. Check to see that the dryer cord is properly plugged in to the electrical outlet.
  8. Check your fuse box to make sure that the fuse is not blown, or check your circuit breaker to make sure that it has not tripped. Replace the fuse if necessary or throw the circuit breaker.
  9. Check the outlet itself to make sure that it functions properly by plugging in a portable device.

Mdg2600bww is not ignighting, cleared ventline, turns on, just no heat

Hi,
Make sure front of dryer is not blocked, air flow is needed to dry.Check that the lint filter and exhaust duct is clean.

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

My kenmore dryer is not starting, i think it might be the fuse. any suggestions?

Check the door switch actuator ( the little tab the door strikes when closing ) . The fuse only opperates the heat or no heat , to the gas valve .

Where is the thermal cut off located on a Kemmoor model # 110.64982300 located? Where is the centrifucal motor switch located and how can it be tested.

The thermal cutoff is located above the heat
er element on the heater chamber. The fuse mounts on the blower housing. The dryer wont run if the fuse is blown but if the cutout is blown the dryer will run but you wont have any heat. the cent switch is located on the motor, almost NEVER breaks only seen one in 35 years broken and it was full of lint.

Dryer doesn't dry, lint not cloged, gas ignights

When you say lint not clogged I assume you mean the removable lint trap in the dryer. If the drum gets hot (open the door a few minutes into the cycle) then most likely you have a vent problem. You will need to check if the vent is blocked solid either by lint or if the vent pipe is crushed. I would suggest going out to whereever the vent ends on the outside of the building and see if air is getting blown out with the dryer on. If no air is coming out then chances are it is blocked. If the drum is cold then gas flame is not getting hot.

Front load 4years old not hot

Attached to the lint trap housing are two devices. One is the thermostat, the other a thermal fuse. Check each for continuity. The igniter will not glow if either device has failed.
