Check your venting and lint filter housing to assure no lint building up inside. This is the primary cause of fuse failure.

all was clear on the venting...just cant believe that is all it can be. can i get away that easy?

Probably....the operating thermostat may be faulty and allowing overheat, but this would NOT be common. However, that thermostat is cheap, so you may want to replace it anyway.

means that the melted wires are not damaged up to where you found them, but went further into the circuit wiring . cut the outside cover to further up til you find the ***** wire which surely are connected and that's why you are having blown fuses.

Won't heat

Hi there,

Well first of all you can check out the power from the house - Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected. Then you can check the heating element -Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it, electric heating elements are not repairable. Further you can check the thermal fuse -
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse which is about an inch long is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for using FixYa!!

It wont turn on

You give us littel to go on here. Can you describe what happens (if anything) when you attempt to turn on the set? Is there a click? Is there a standby light on the set before you try turning it on? Is there sound or nothing at all?

While possible, dead sets are not usually caused by a blown fuse. If the fuse is blown, then the power supply will need work. If not blown, the power supply may still be the problem. Please update this with any other symptoms and we'll try to assist further.

Dan

Power to back of oven going in and out of the oven but nothing happening not even the clock is coming on. please help.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. When microwave oven doesn't work at all, it means interior fuse inside the microwave has blown (usually a part inside the microwave makes this fuse blow). Sometimes a bad fuse holder inside the microwave cannot hold the fuse tight enough and the fuse will blow as well. If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work. It can also be due to a stuck or faulty door switch which might have blown the interior microwave fuse.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Airbag lt on

Hi!

Code 51 means: Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse ä Fuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground. It means that the computer controlling the airbags sensed a short in the wiring and disabled itself by tripping an internal fuse for safety reasons so that the air bag cannot be deployed accidentally. To repair the car, the wiring problem must be fixed, and then the airbag module replaced. Look for smashed wires, wires that are rubbing against bare metal or other wiring damage affecting the airbag circuits. This wiring is all under the plastic cowl around the steering column.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further clarification.

Thanks

Power will not stay on

Activated protection circuitry means that the amplifier is seeing conditions it does not like and is shutting down the power to prevent further damage.
Either you have a short in your speaker wires, in your speakers, or a blown amplifier.
Disconnect both speakers and turn on the amplifier. Does it still give the error message? If it does, your amp is blown. If it does not, carefully inspect your speaker wires and their connection. Make sure all looks good and reconnect the speakers and try it again. Still get the error message? You likely have a problem in your speaker cabinet(s).
