My internet is really slow and somtimes i cant go on specific websites because it takes too long too load? can you please give me some advice

It may be worth going to Download.com and getting something called "Advanced System Care Free"
This will check over your PC first, making sure that there is nothing wrong with the actual PC.

If it's purely your internet speed, then you could check some basic things. If you are on dialup, then make sure the cable is undamaged, and as close to the main incoming box as possible. If you are on a dongle, then make sure you can get a clear signal (near windows are good). Sometimes it's worth investing in a USB extension cable so you can get the dongle in a better position.

If you are on ADSL/Broadband, it's worth contacting your provider, see if they can check the lines and increase the speed.

Hope this helps.

I am using bsnl 3g sim but I am getting only 236Kbps speed according to dealer we should get 3.6Mpbs

If you run a utility called "Speedtest" you can find it at http://speedtest.net/
It is quite accurate and tests ping etc.
The dealer will tell you anything to get a sale. I am with Vodaphone on a dongle. I have a possible download speed of 7.2Mbits/sec and I am lucky to get 240K on a good day!

How to make my pc faster

1 . Clean up your desktop icons. Having too many icons on your desktop slows down your computer's operational speed. Consider cleaning them up to keep only what you need on your desktop.

2 . Remove unnecessary start-up entries. These are programs that start when you turn on your computer, and it takes time for them to load. Programs such as lime wire, Msn, and quick time helper are common culprits.

3 . Run a virus-scan. If you do not have any virus protection software, Then you can download it from the internet

4 . Un install any programs you don't use in Control Panel. Trial software and other junk clogs up your computer and makes it run slowly.

5 . Do a registry scan and repair. Using cleaner of your choice, clean and repair the Windows registry to make your computer run smoother.

6 . Conduct an ad-ware scan. Ad-ware is similar to spy ware and is just as bad. You can also download it from the internet

8 . Upgrade your computer's hardware. The most common upgrade is an upgrade in RAM, but you can also upgrade your graphics card or processor to make your computer run faster.

9 . Make sure all your hardware drivers are up to date. Do this by visiting the manufacturer's websites to download the latest versions.

10 . Turn off unnecessary visual effects such as Vista's Aero effect, all of which slow down your system. Skinning programs such as Windows Blinds also slow down your system.

11 . If all else fails, re-format your computer and install windows again to start off will a clean system with no junk.

12 . De fragment your hard-drives. When your hard drive is reading your files, a little head drops onto to a spinning disk to read the information to load a file. If the file is split up between multiple parts of the hard drive, it takes longer to open each file. Thus, De fragmenting frequently will make every-day activity quicker on your computer.

Hope the above information will help you.
Thanks.

Runs slow on video downloads

Hello Sir,

downloading speed depends on internet connection not on PC specification.

If your transfer is low then downloading will also be low.

Take note that source from which you are downloading also must have reliable connection.

cheers,
Mike

I get very low speed

Low internet speed? Computer running slow? If this has to do with your internet you may want to contact your ISP and discuss with them why you are having low speeds. If this is not related to the internet then you should try upgrading RAM and possibly Processor speed.

My internet keeps dropping out

possible reasons:

Dial up:
  • phone line problem.especially in wet weather, crackling on the line ,call the telco.
  • modem\router on its way out. connect directly to the modem and try it .
  • settings for idle time before disconect needs turning off, (set to 20 minute by default)in most cases.
  • if you have call waiting ,turn it off ,as it can kick you of the net when a call is trying to comes in.
if you use ADSL and/or wireless :
  • some of the above and
  • some USB dongle are prone to drop out,
  • try using a Lan cable
  • brick walls and other hard surfaces can interfere with the signal if you are away some distance from the wireless router.
  • cordless phones can cause problems, keep them away from the modem\wireless router and wireless dongle, or adapter in the pc/laptop
good luck with this and let me know how it goes
