There is a dipsitck on the side of the crankcase that has to horizontal marks on it. To remove the dipstick you unscrew it CCW. You must screw the dipstick in fully to check the oil level. You should fill the oil level to the highest horizontal line but NOT above that line.
If you can locate the engine model number I can find the exact specifications for the oil quantity for you.
