Our system first goes into 'repair' or 'normal' mode option screen, then boots into the 'repair' mode and eventually hangs before logging in all the way. The screen just hangs with a Windows 7 style blue screen with wispy lines and green branch and a white bird off to the mid right of the screen.

You'll need to setup the Acer laptop to boot from CD-ROM. Push either the F2 or F10 button when booting your laptop and it should bring-up the configuration management interface. Go through the options and confirm that Boot From CD-ROM is at the top of the list on bootable devices.

Next, you'll need your original Windows XP CD that came with the Laptop. Put it in the CD-ROM Drive and reboot your laptop. You will be given two options: 1) Re-install Windows or 2) Repair the existing Windows Installation. I recommend that you repair the existing Windows Installation as this will not destroy and data or device drivers that are install on the laptop.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: I have an acer aspire 5315 and on start up it goes

This can be caused by a hardware failure (e.g. hard drive, etc.) or an operating system (OS) issue. Either way I would recommend taking it to a computer repair shop so they can diagnose the issue.
If its an OS issue most likely the cheapest way to fix it will be reloading the OS on a new hard drive(because its cheaper to buy a hard drive then have a company backup your data) then plug in your old hard drive to get access to your data.

SOURCE: netbook will not boot up

choose to boot from safe mode. check if it will proceed. if so, you should reinstall your operating system. if it still wont boot to safe mode then you should replace your hard drive.

I can only boot in safe mode, if i try to boot reguarly it gets the blue screen right after i enter my password to log on

You most probably installed some software or driver before this problem started to occur. So while youre in safe mode try uninstalling recently installed programs. Other way around is to use system restore when your computer boots up in safe mode and gives you the options screen to do a restore. Restore it to a date before your problem started.

Hi everyone, I'm having the same problem too.. Everytime I start my laptop, It show these two option: Startup repair or Start Windows normally. I "Start Windows normally" and then it comes...

Hi.

It looks like your going to have to perform a full system recovery as you are not getting anywhere with start-up repair or safe mode.

For a full system restoration, press the F11 key during bootup and then select "Recover PC" from the menu.
