How have you hooked it up? Even though the 2600 uses an RCA connector, it is not baseband video and CANNOT connect to the yellow video port of the TV. The connector is designed to provide an RF signal to a TV/GAME box, and the output of that is a 300 ohm (2-wire) connection. You need a 300ohm to 75 ohm adapter, since most modern TVs use the 75 ohm style connection.
Make sure you check for Channel 2 or 3, and if you have a digital TV that auto-programs, you may need to add channels 2 and 3 manually to tune to them.

My tv sound and picture work great with a cable hooked to an antenna. When I connect a cable box, video game, etc. to any input, it works for a second, then displays no signal. What part do I need?

clean the jack on the back of the tv. might be losing connection, can also be the the cable connection. so try using a different one, switch cleaner and the tv off at power before spraying the switch cleaner. also use an old tooth brush to remove any dirt. and spray again don't turn tv back on till it has dried. if after all this and its still the same this could be a problem with the connection to the board, and could need re soldering back on. or the controller chip for the av control has a problem, can be a build up of dust that has made its way into the chip joints, switch cleaner and brush should clen this out. dry joints on the board can also do this as when thy warm up they will disconnect and be no signal. while you have the back off the tv clean out the dust build up even on the back of the boards with an paint brush and a hoover. this will help the tv. clean out as much of the dust out as you can. but don't be to ******* the av board as this has small parts on this and if you knock a resistor etc off you will not be able to find were its from without a semantic. just spray switch cleaner and wipe around with the brush.

I can't get the tv to program stations. I have broadband cable and thought it should be simple. The DVD player doesn't work on it so I am unsure if that could effect the programming of the stations. I...

If you are taking a cable out of the wire directly into tv without a decoder box of any type would mean that you need to hook that wire up to a connection that says "QAM" and then set your tv to scan for digital channels. You will only get what is called "clear QAM" and it will be a limited number of channels

if you are coming out of a "cable box" then you should be hooking up to some type of video input like "HDMI" or "component" to get video to tv and then you just need to switch the input of your tv to the input you just connected and switch channels on box. you dont need to program channels

hope this helps - if not give me more specifics and i will try to help you more

good luck

We bought a new samsung 32" flat screen TV. Our HD cable box is connected to the tv using the red/yellow/white cables. Is there an alternative way to connect my Wii without unplugging the HD box...

You'll need to purchase an HDMI cable and use that to connect your hd box to your tv. Your tv should have several HDMI connections on the back to facilitate the hookup and you will not have a true HD picture without that cable. You can buy this cable from the same place you bought your tv or www as well as many other electronics supply stores, hardware stores, or places like Kmart, Walmart, Bimart, etc. You can also buy a multi port Rh connector box that you can run multiple components through and just push the corresponding button for the component you wish to operate.
Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

Got new dvr box (not HD connection). had to use inputs that xbox was connected to on tv for my dvr. how do I connect the xbox 360 now so that we can use it without switching out the connections?

There are a couple ways to do this. The cheaper way is to buy some RCA Y adapters. You'll need one for each input (3, probably). Plug the male end into your TV, then plug the (yellow, red or white) cable from the XBox and DVR into the other ends of the cable. The downside of this is that you'll need to turn off the box you're not using in order to see the screen OK.

The slightly more expensive way is to purchase a switch box from Best Buy or Radio Shack or any where on the internet. The switch box will work like the Y adapters, but you can have both boxes on. If these are the only two devices that you need to use, then you only need a 2 way switch. Buy the switch and three RCA cables. Plug the RCA cables into the back of the switch in the output holes, and plug the other end into the TV. Plug the DVR and XBox cables into the input sections of the switch. Then you press one button for DVR on the switch and the other button for the XBox.

X box 360 has a sound but no video signal

If your cable has 6 connections, there is a small switch on the cable connector where you can select hdtv and tv, try moving that switch to TV ;)

Unknown problem in my xbox 360

3 likely possibilities -:

1) The slide switch on the Video Lead plug (plugs into Xbox) is in the wrong place for where its attached to you tv.

2) you consul is set to PAL not NSTC or the other way around.

3) Wrong video refresh rate, should be 50 for PAL Uk 60 NSTC

I have a jvc tv model av27530. Disconnected cable box b/c going

You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.

If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.

Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.

Not sure what you're actually connecting. First, if you have a switch unit, the antenna or your regular cable go into one side and the game in the connects to the TV. If that's not what's going've got to fix that up. Your local electronics store or Radio Shack can help with the right one. Most units use channels 2, 3 or 4 as set on the tv...not a cable box. There may be a small switch with some of those numbers located on the bottom of the unit so that you can switch to a channel not used for broadcast in your area.
