Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Our xerox machine has developed kind of a halo effect at the top of the page. Plus there are two horizontal "stripes" one about 1/2 in thick and indistinct and the other a more solid pencil like line.

This sounds like toner dust that has leaked onto the rollers and/or document area. I would need to know the model number of the fax machine in order to give you specific instructions on how to clean this and get a better image quality.

Please send your info via email to my america online account which is kndkcook. Or post a clarification under the "reply" area by going back to your original message on Fixya's website.

Please send the model info and I will reply with instructions.

What kind of developer use in xerox WC 5755 B/w Copier/printers? is that have any technical name any brand provide equivalent developer powder separately?

Please let me try and make sense of your question.
I suspect your trying to buy toner or developer from another supplier other than Xerox, assuming you could purchase it cheaper than from a Xerox channel.
Usually these types of consumables will turn out to be uneconomical in the long run, and can give poor quality print overall. I had a situation like this where a customer put the toner from his Fax printer in the wide format printer in the same room. The printer still worked but the background was becoming horrendous. Because this printer was on time & materials to fix this problem would have meant firing a new developer tank in the region of £1000 plus call out etc. etc.
Think carefully before you go down this path.
Good luck.

Fix a xerox 6350DT

If you have a white stripe in only one color, then you might have a bad developer. Each color has its own developer
116-2008-00 Yellow
116-2009-00 Magenta
116-2010-00 Cyan
116-2011-00 Black

Changing the developer is not super easy. You'd have to remove the left cover, HV Power Supply board, then remove Image Unit and the Developer Frame, where all the Developers are mounted. Detach the feed hose for the Developer you want to change and release the Developer's 2 spring clips.

The attached photo shows old developers which have dead spots that would cause the missing stripes on prints.

I'm getting a line that isn't printing through my printing from a Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C3055 DX

Possible reasons are: 1.empty toner cartridge, 2.dirt under one of the toner cartridge's developing roller, 3. dirt on the primary charge roller in the drum cartridge, 4. obstacle on the laser path.
Replace the empty toners first and try printing again. Follow the next steps if it didn't solve the problem.
Print a test page with 4 stripes across the page - black, cyan, yellow and magenta. See if all have the missing toner line or only one of them. If the white stripe is going trough only one color, inspect the cartridge with that color. It has to have the same stripe on the developing roller. See if there is some dust beneath it that makes the stripe and clean it with a brush. If the stripe is across all colors, then inspect the drum unit. The drum itself has to be evenly shining on the light. If there are uneven matte tracks on it, consider replacing. There should be a gap somewhere for the laser beam to pass and the drum is visible trough it. Look trough it for obstacles like piece of paper or hair. The primary charge roller has to be close to that gap inside, touching the drum. Look for dirt on it. Clean if possible.
Toner cartridges last approx. 6500 pages. The drum cartridge lasts between 14 000 and 28 000 pages depending on the color use.

Our Xerox 7665 has major color issues... the yellow seems to be deficient but not in any consistent pattern. I changed out the color drum with no effect, and also did a color calibration, also with no...

You can try the following: switch the drum to another position for example to blue (Cyan). If the defect changes to blue color problem lies in the drum.
Is the defect vertical /drum axle direction) or horizontal? If horizontal the problem is probably:
-developer assembly
-contaminated ROS (laser assy).
DO NOT EXPOSE THE DRUM ASSEMBLIES more than 5 minutes to light. Cover them with paper or black plastic bag.

Hi i got xerox phaser 7750 and i have error code

Cheap fix : reset the Developer Life Count in the Service
Tools menu. Hold down the back ARROW key with the "i" them with your other hand turn on the machine.

Expensive fix : What has happen is that the developers have come to the end of the life and once it gets to a certain page count it will print out no more until you have replace the developers. One thing xerox forgot to do is reset the engine control board too for this machine. So you might need a new engine cotrol board too.

1. Replace the Developer
2. After the Developer has been replaced, reset the Developer Life Count in the Service
Tools menu.
NOTE: It is recommended that all the Developers and Beads be replaced at one time rather
than on sccessive visits.

Good luck.

A light vertical stripe through image

This is probably a toner cartridge related problem.

Especially if this effect is seen only through 1 colour.

If this this is through all colours, look for a piece of paper (or other item - I've seen paper clips, hair grips, pencils, and a small childs toy INSIDE printers!) in the printer that could be 'wiping the toner off the page before it goes though the fuser.

We ran some aftermarket (non dell) toner in it and quit when the pages were coming out with color haze & streaks of various colors on them. Have vacuumed out old toner powder and installed genuine dell...

You need to be using dell toner for this printer not aftermarket becase the tecknolag it uses to do the printing will only work on the recamended toner catrages
