Kitchenaid dishwasher has no power at buttons

There is a fuse link that needs to be replaced in the control panel. It is easy to do. The new fuse comes with wires attached. Use them. Resistance in the old wires will just blow the new fuse again. Use a screwdriver to remove the panel cover. Unplug or turn off breaker before doing so. I generally order two of the fuses at a time so I have an extra one on hand.

KitchenAid Dishwasher model# KUDR24SEBL1 Doesn't have power.Front panel is no longer lit up and machine does not go on when a load is ready for washing

The most probable thing that is causing the dishwasher to not start is going to be a blow fuse that clips onto the control board. This tip i wrote explains how to check that fuse.

My Kitchenaid dishwasher is not turning on. I hired a repair man who charged me $108 to replace the fuse. The dishwasher worked for a few minutes, but then failed before the cycle was over. He then said...

something is blowing the fuse==a direct short somewhere. I would never use that repair guy again, $288 later, dishwasher should work. just trying parts is not a repairman, its a parts seller. if you cannot find the short, not worth replacing parts. and obviously 288 almost buys a new dishwasher. good luck and call his boss and complain about the repair and ask for your money back

You might have debris clogging the drain/disposal. My wife just tried to wash labels off of some old jars, the paper is stuck in the drain and my TCO is blown.

Dishwasher stopped mid-cycle. No power lights etc. Checked fuse box etc. no luck. Any ideas what could have caused this?

There is a thermal fuse in the control panel that must be replaced.
It is on the right hand side and has a black and a white wire going to it.

I own a KUDS01FLSS3 KitchenAid dishwasher. The lights on the control panel do not come on and a cycle can not be started. There is about an inch of water in the bottom of the dishwasher basin and it looks...

The problem with the unit is the thermal cut-out/fuse has tripped. You'll need to purchase the replacement kit #959376. It should be available at most local parts retailers, or online parts depots as well. (double check with your model number, but that is the most common)

**Be sure to use the entire kit**.

You'll notice there are new wires to the fuse to be spliced into existing ones, this is to ideally prevent the problem from re-occuring. (follow the instructions provided, you'll be fine)

If the problem does re-occure in the near future, you'll need the control, #1060952

hope that helps,

Good Luck

It appears that there is no power to the unit all of a sudden. I checked the breaker. I ran the dishwasher the day before with no issues. Any ideas on what could have happened?

It sounds like you may have blown the thermal fuse. The fuse is located behind the operator console. The part number for the replacement kit is 8193762. You can view an illustration at It sells for about $13 and instuctions with a wiring harness are included with the kit.

NOTE: You MUST follow the instructions and use the wiring harness. There were some noted problems with certain model dishwashers where the wire gauge on the thermal fuse was too small and would heat up causing the thermal fuse to blow prematurely. The replacement kit includes a wire harness with a larger gauge wire that handles current better, preventing the fuse from blowing prematurely. To ease your mind, there were no reports of fire hazard.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

KUDIO1ILBS2 KitchenAid Dishwasher, two years old, not heavy usage: control panel is dead, no other power problems in the apartment, the apartment's electical box shows all breakers ok.

These dishwasher have a thermal fuse near the contol panel protecting the heat sensitive computer. Do you use the Sanitize or Anti-bacteria cycles?? If so then these cycles get very hot and could have made the fuse blow. Kitchenaid also had some loose connection problems at the fuse making the fuse heat up due to the electicity and not actual temperature. The new fuse comes as a kit with connectors already attached to the fuse (dont mess with them) and a junction block to splice the wires.
