Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Call of Duty Black Ops is a very resource intensive game due to it's high graphical output and complex physics engine. If your PS3 overheats while playing this game it does not always mean that something is wrong with your console, and often the problem can be solved by trying a few minor fixes.
The first and easiest thing to do is simply to turn the console off (using the switch on the back), waiting for about 30 seconds, then turning it back on. Try that, then play the game for a while and see if the problem continues.
If it does, use the switch on the back of PS3 to turn it off, then unplug and replug all of the cables, paying extra attention that all of the cables are secured snugly into the console. For some reason, PS3s tend to overheat when cables are lose.
If neither of these two things help, run your PS3 fro a while, then check the surfaces near your PS3 with your hand and see how hot they are. If you notice a particular surface is getting a lot of heat, try moving your console to a less enclosed space, or to somewhere where there is not an object (shelf, wall, other electronics) too close to your console in the direction that the heat is going.
If you try all of these things your problem should be fixed. If you need anymore help, feel free to post a comment in this section and I can provide continued support.
