Check cable error means your hard drive is shot (broken). You will need to replace your hard drive with a new one. Any saved data cannot be recovered from it as I have the same problem with an old laptop of mine.
Depending on the type of harddrive you have (SATA etc) / (250gb , 500gb etc)
They range from around £30 upwards. (just for harddrive itself)

Hope this helps

You have to take it apart. It has nothing to do with the BIOS.

PXE-E61 media failure check cable

PXE-E61 Error message showing due to Media cable failure.
You have to fix this media cable failure one must return to the BIOS screen at start up. Depending on the model of the laptop, press f1, f2, or delete to enter the BIOS screen (the computer will tell you what keys to press). At the bottom of the BIOS screen, there will be a menu. One of the options should be "setup defaults." By pressing the corresponding key, it will return all of your settings back to how they where originally.
Hopefully it will help you

Display PXE-E61: Media Failure, Check Cable PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel Boot Agent Will not boot to windows. I boot from the hard drive and still get an error

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.

Operating system not found media test failure will not reboot aspire 3680

Installing an operating system from one computer and inserting it into another computer will not work specially when they are from different manufacturers because the components in them are different.
The Windows install has to be done on the intended computer.
The media test failure error message refers to a faulty disk controller or a faulty hard disk.
