There should be no air this is a positive pressure pump. " the pool water is higher than the pump.. so if i would guess , just loosen the lid, it will self prime, or your impeller may have trash in it and it's not able to move the water good enough to remove the air.. try back flushing the pump with the garden hose..

I need a repair kit for a sandfliter modle number 20110 do you have this

This is an easy fix. You will have to take the filter assembly apart. Go to your local pool shop ,ask for Silica filter pool sand. You will notice a gasket on the top. Be gentle with that. Mark the orientation of the pump head. Take a picture or two. Eye ball the level before you start to clean it. Magic mark outside.

Get a clean wheel barrel or a tub. Flush the sand and grit from the vessel. Be careful of the tubes on the inside. You can wash the sand clean from all the debris or replace it. I would replace it. I believe 2 bags should do it. Cheap. Have done a few. Worth the effort. You will be happy you did. The whole process takes about 3 hours including the purchase of the product. Reseal all your connections with new pipe sealant or tape.

The largest failure when doing this is air infiltration by suction. Tighten enough but not too much and mark all your plumbing with matched coding tape until done, clearly identified, if your knew at this project. There are a rainbow of colors to choose from and the alphabet, I hope your days are wet and relaxing. Do not let the word kit stop you. All that is in the filter is SILICA sand. Make sure you get that for replacement. They have figured for you. Good Day.

I don't know how much time you are giving it, but sometimes when I start my pump, it'll take 20 minutes or so for it to start a full stream of water. Also, make sure the valves are turned to the unlock position on the incoming and outgoing hoses.

If they are to much for the pump basket you can try filter by-pass. Another thing could be a tool called a leaf master that hooks on your garden hose and sweeps any and all light stuff from pool and collects in a bag big enough to hold it all in one sitting.

unscrew the lock ring and pull, the lid should come off with the lock ring. If not, line up the notches in the ring with the slots on the lid and pull. You should then be able to access the basket to clean it.
