Hello, Welcome to Fixya.com

Sounds like what you got here is a hardware issue with the mechanism inside the player. Many times this can be cause by debris or dust getting inside the unit from the outside. This being a automotive electronics it would seem to be also related to what I am talking about. You can try and get a laser cleaning kit to clean the laser pictured below:

does not read disk and - rulds2008_48.jpg
You can also try to reset the system by unplugging the system from the harness this could involve some work to do. Many people cut the power by unplugging the battery but that can be dangerous if this vehicle has airbags. Not know what type of car or what type of system this is or what I am working with here I am giving you general advice that could work out for you.

If you choose to follow any advice on the internet you do so at your own risk regardless of a persons claim to be a expert or not. Fixya does not hire experts you hire us by voting on our solutions.

Thanks for using Fixya.com

Emachine E528 Laptop is saying a disk read error occured push ctrl+alt+delete an it will restart

The error that you are getting indicates that the system is not able to detect the Hard Drive. We would need to confirm if the Hard Drive is detected in the system BIOS or not. For that we would need to turn off the computer. Turn on the computer and start hitting F2 key to reach BIOS. On the First page of BIOS it should show you the Hard Disk Drive with name and Number. If it shows all drives and none or not detected then it means the hard drive is not getting detected by the system. If you can open the Laptop and reach the Hard Disk Drive you can try to re-seat it to see if it gets detected. If it still remains undetected, Its time to replace the Hard Disk Drive.

Please try the above steps and get back for any further assistance or clarification

I have a designer i floppy with 4d, my computer will read the disk but my sewing maching will not it tells me disk error. i know the disk are good. HELP!!! I need to do some embroidery before christmas...

So sorry I did not read your post before christmas and hope that you got it sorted in time! I would reformat the floppy disk and write to it again. I've had the USB makeover on my Des 1, but when I used floppies I would reformat every single time to avoid this problem. Also do make sure the floppy is pushed right into the slot in your Des1.

Endless loop

Mine did this (on a Ram disk) but I was able to push eject before the dvd tried to read the disk. I had unplugged it overnight, then once plugged back in immediately pushed eject. Once the disk was out it stopped going into recovery mode.
Hope it helps. Good Luck.

Dvd is stuck

Ok what you can do (with power off and unplugged) is open the unit up, find the load and unload motor on the DVD carriage and manually turn it this will unload the disk.
