I wanted to know if there is a way to hook up the sound from a Panasonic DMP-BD655P-K Blu-Ray player to my existing Yamaha DVX C310SW home theater system. I know I can hook the Blu Ray directly to the TV...

Yes this can be done. You have several options for audio hookup. Stereo 2-channel (white and red) RCA cables, digital audio (optical or coaxial) or HDMI. Your home theater must have the inputs available such as optical, coaxial etc. Typically the stereo 2-channel RCA is the simple way. Just connect from the Bluray audio outputs to the Home theater inputs (white and red) for stereo sound. Select the input on the home theater. For Dolby Digital 5.1 use optical digital audio cable (black port) or coaxial (orange RCA port) from Bluray to similar home theater input.

Speaker Err on Yamaha Home Theater Unit ???

I am assuming this is the message that shows up from your receivers front display panel? It could be the receiver is telling you that you may have the neg & pos. wires crossed and in the opposite position either in back of the receiver speaker posts, or in back of the speaker terminals themselves. My Yamaha receiver has this nice feature where it will tell you when the speakers are "Out Of Phase" which describes the problem I have described here.

Just go back and make sure your wires are hooked up correctly, and use tape and a Marker to label pos. and neg so they will be easier to hook up next time you have to move the system, or decide to change some aspect of your system. I would then take the time to label every wire that goes to each speaker that you plug into the back of your receiver. This a BIG time saver........

Yamaha htr5230 hookup

Hi, Your receiver is really the same as my HTR 5240. Same back and front. basically. Go to Retrevo for manual. Shows all the hook ups. I have VCR , DVD, Tape Deck, hooked to mine but can't find the adapter so i can hook up my indoor fm antenna. All my components plug to back of receiver then there is one RCA wire running from receiver to Tv.

Hook up

Karri, I do not have the photo of the back, but attached is a general wiring diagram for any Audio-video Home theater system. If you have a Home Theater Receiver, then hook it up as the diagram. If not, hook it up per the comments in the diagram. This is how I hooked up my ONKYO HT system with my SONY Combo DVD recorder and my Mitsubishi TV. One thing to note on Combos, is that the VCR Tape section will not play through the High Definition connections (HDMI, and Digital Audio). You have to use the older method of Audio-Video (AV) cables or the Co-axial antenna cables. You can ask more questions if there is any confusions. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
