You may have a dead hard drive. take out the hard drive and reinstall it. try to restart. If it does not work, then you have to replace the hard drive. If you do replace it make sure it is a 2.5 inch IDE hard drive. If you do get an new hard drive then you will have to reinstall windows.

Hi, my Dell latitude d600 won't start I mean it comes on and looks like it's starting up but then it says no bootable devices found.... I've checked the battery and made sure I still had the hard drive but...

You may want to check for good hard drive connection cable to see if this solve you problem.
Another essay you can do is to enter the bios (normally you should press F2 or F10 or DEL key, follow what appears on the screen during the boot) and see if it can detect the hard drive. If the bios cannot detect it most likely you are facing a hardware problem, maybe a mainboard problem.

My Laptop is Dell Latitude D600 (A16) Everytime I tried to power up, Splash screen appears with blue bar and when going into next screen this message appears " No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry...

Check your BIOS, by pressing F2 and see if the hard drive is recognized. It should indicate the MFR next to the hard drive listing. If it's not there, then you might have a bad hard drive. If it is there, try re-installing the operating system with the set-up disk. You can also go to the Dell website, enter you service tag number, and get technical support for your particular laptop. It might have a recovery partition in the hard drive to recover to factory settings.

MY DELL LATITUDE D600 WONT LOAD WINDOWS AT ALL :( HELP

The computer is telling you is that the hard drive isn't being detected. This could be due to a poor connection from the drive to the motherboard, hard drive failure, or even something that's gone wrong on the motherboard.

In the BIOS setup (the F2 option), check to see if the drive is listed on the screen where you can check connected devices. If the hard drive doesn't show up, you'll probably want to replace it. The good news is that it's very simple to get to the drive, and you easily find replacements from several online vendors (Tiger Direct, Newegg, and so on) or possibly even at large retailers. Here is a link to online documentation at Dell for this model. You can view or download the service manual which shows just what you need to do. (The hard drive access page is here.)

If you replace the drive you'll have to reload all your software, but you've already decided that's not a bad thing.

It is the Hard drive on the system. Hard Drive is failing. Another Error code for the Hard Drive is Error Code 7. Check BIOS setup if the system still detects the Hard Drive as well. You may want to consider changing the Hard Drive on the system.

From the Bios, load all the default settings and then check the bios SATA port settings. If it is set to AHCI, change it to IDE to boot from Hard Drive. This should solve the problem
