Question about Oral B Vitality Dual Clean Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush Colors May Vary

1 Answer

My oral b rechargeable toothbrush (brand new out the box at the weekend) wil not recharge - have thrown the intructions away thinking "what is there to know you stick the toothbrush on the charger stand for a few hours and that should be that!!" I do wonder how a plastic charger connection can charge the toothbrush through a plastic hole in its base?

The plastic connecton has a coil in it, much like how a transformer is done. If you read up on how a transformer works its pretty much the same principle as it works on Induction. There is a coil and core iron in the end of the toothbrush and in the base, this creates AC current which inturn causes induction to flow through the coils and charge the battery. And about the reason why it is not charging is probably down to the battery being flat ( happens even when new ) or there is a loose connection when it was being transported.
Hope this helps.

Electric rechargeable braun toothbrush 500

I had the same problem at the beginning of the year. I think i had bought 3 electric tooth brushes and all seemed to cave in within a couple of weeks. My friend recommended going to Macy's to buy one, which I did and it is still going strong. Maybe you charged it for a very long period of time and it overheat the system circuit? I'm not sure but I would recommend getting a new toothbrush.

My braun toothbrush will not charge it is the 5. in a year. I am very fed up with Braun Oral B. Why is it not charging. Bought this one 5 weeks ago.

Have you left it to charge for a long period of time? Maybe it overheated the power source? If you cant get it to work I would suggest buying at Macy's. They seem pretty reliable and have good warranty's for these sort of things.

I have bought many rechargeable devices and about 4-5% of them have bad Chinese batteries in them. I also have converted nearly all battery operated items to rechargeables and these often have spotty performance with several out of a couple of dozen not worth keeping. You might try running the batteries down as far as possible and then trying to recharge. If they are NiCads, they may have developed 'memory,' a known weakness of that type and NiMh batteries in particular seem to need several charge/discharge cycles before they will come somewhat up to their rated capacities.

How long does it take to recharge my oral b toothbrush and should it work when put on charger sraight away

The first time you use the unit, it should be charged for 24 hours or more.
When it needs charging, my unit takes over 24 hours to fully charge and then lasts around 14 days until it needs another charge.

Is this helpful?

Dear Sir, Madam, I have a tooth brush by Braun : Oral B Triumph 5000. I am not able to recharge the battery any more. What should I do ? Thank you in advance for your answer. Best regards. GH. Leroux

Three possibilities come to mind ::

- the rechargable battery is dead and won't take a charge and needs replacing, or

- the charger is malfunctioning (broken wire or burned out transformer), or

- the electrical contacts on the toothbrush and the contacts on the charger are not making good contact (need cleaning or re-tensioning).

How old is the toothbrush ? Is there a charging light and does it light up when it's charging ?

My Braun Oral-B Sonic Complete Toothbrush wont hold a charge

I had the same problem today. I use the charging plug which has the "wrench" remove the bottom screw...I was attempting to remove the battery to reset the brush. I could not get the bottom of the brush off as I did not want to use a screw driver or similar to pry it off in case I needed to return the brush.

So I was trying to pull the bottom off and my finger was on the on/off switch, as I was wiggling the bottom of the brush to try to dislodge the battery it started working.

The brush seems to have a reset button on the back but that did not do anything. The display also has moisture trapped inside it, which I am sure is not good!

Any way try this and maybe the battery will come out and I am sure that will reset the brush...if not maybe you will get lucky as I did and wiggling it will work. BTW, this is with the Oral-B Triumph Professionla Care 9000
