Technics stereo cassette deck rs az6 spares

Tape belts are universal generally. All you do is measure the diameter of the belt in MM and if it is wider than the "string" type the width in MM again. Put the words "cassette drive belt xx MM" into Google. You don't have to precise with the measurements.

Where do i buy drive belt FOR SONY CASSETTE DECK TC-K8B

Any spares shop can make a match but otherwise this is for the round or square belts only You can fit a round belt in place of the square type it does not matter. I had some reel to reel machines and in desperation I went to a Hydraulic cylinder and pump spares shop and got an "o" ring of the correct length and thickness Remember that the new belt must be SLIGHTLY shorter to give grip on the pulleys. I have several units cassette and open reel that I was forced to fit this type and some some are running now over ten years everyday

Drive belts on tape decks are mostly universal. You only need to measure the diameter of each belt in mm and then enter the result in Google as "Cassette drive belt ??mm".

I need to replace the drivebelts on my deck. Does anybody know where I can find spares in Melbourne Oz? Also if you have part numbers or something.

All you need to do is measure the Drive Belt's diameter. They are universal, not specific to any brand.
Once you have that put the words: "Cassette Drive belts" and the size in mm, into Google and I'm certain you will find someone to post to that part of the world.

Is a drive belt available for this tape recorder and is it fairly simple to replace?

Thanks for the additional information.

I haven't replaced one on that particular model before, but as models of the period were designed to be dismantled for regular maintenance it's not usually difficult to do.

Replacement drive belts are readily available: as an example look at this listing on the Swiss eBay website which also includes a handy photo of a typical drivebelt installation. Although the listing is in German, the information is repeated in English further down the page. Best of all this drive belt is listed as being a brand new (compatible) one, old stock (original equipment) ones are usually perished and useless. Just make sure that you tell the seller that it's for the Telefunken M204 if you place an order. You can browse for additional spares by clicking here.

If you have any questions regarding my reply then please add a further comment, but if I have answered your question please let me know by sparing a moment to rate my answer.

Head jammed in record

Most likely one of the belts has slipped a bit and the unit is stuck in the middle of a transition. Normally, a power up will "reset" the mechanism. Try that first. The owner should hear the motor run once the power has been turned on. If that is the case and the mechanism does not clear, then the belt is slipping and can't return the mechanism to a known start state. The unit will need to see a servicer to reset it and to replace the main drive belt.

My RS EH60 tape deck drive belts have perished and broken. I have no source for spares nor can I see how to replace them - it is a bit tricky to sort out when you don't have the knowledge of where they go....

You can get drive belts from E-Bay. All you need to do is work out the diameter (approx) and how thick they are.
Can't help with where they go as I don't know the make.
