Question about LG WM1812C Front Load Washer

2 Answers

I am having problems with my LG Washer. There is an error code that flashes at the spin cycle and this stops the cycle from being completed. The UE light flashes and the spin cycle stops and will not complete the spinning. The UE means uneven load and I readjust the clothes and restart the cycle again. Once again when it gets to the spin cycle the load stops and the UE starts flashing again. I have ran the washer without clothes to see if I can get rid of this code and it continues to display the UE when it gets to the spin cycle. I have owned my LG washer almost 7 years and have had awesome service with it and no problems. Unfortunately, I live in a very rural area and trying to find a service person has become virtually obsolete. My choice is basically one person an I'm on day 3 of waiting for a call back so I can only imagine if and when I will be able to actually get an appt. set. Thank you in advance for any and all possible solutions.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Don't wait- follow these;-0)
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)

Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.

Good luck,

John C

UE Error Code

The UE error code (Unbalanced Error) displays when you wash items that cause the machine to shake badly during the spin cycle, if possible wash and drain the items only, then open the door and stack the items evenly on both sides of the drum in order to balance it, now select the spin cycle.

Hi!

I think there is nothing wrong with your washer. The UE error means Unballanced Error. This error comes up in two cases: 1. the load is distributed unevenly in the drum or 2. the machine is not properly set on an even surface (floor).
Of course, it could be a third case possible, but very unlikely, when the ballance sensor itself is malfunctioning and have to be replaced, or the spring and dampers are worn out and also have to be replaced.

Hope it helped!

Best regards

Goes Through Wash Cycles Empty Or Full Stops At Spin And Says UE About 4 Minutes Before End

Hi,
An UE Error Code is indicative of a “Unbalanced Error”.

This indicates that the drum is not spinning in a smooth rotation. It may be necessary to rearrange the load in the drum.

Thank You

Screen reads UE? what is UE?

UE stands for Unbalance Error. If the washer has tried to spin numerous times, tried to redistribute the load itself between each attempt, and still not been able to get the load up to full speed without experiencing an off balance condition, it will finally stop and display the UE code. This is most often the case when a heavy / bulky item(s) are being washed and the spin speed is set very high. When washing these items, set the spin speed to low. The machine will most likely be able to handle that. If you want them spun out faster, then AFTER the washer has made it through the cycle on low speed spin do this: Turn the power back on. Without selecting any cycle, just press the spin speed button, selecting the next higher spin speed. Now press start, and your washer will just do a 14 minute or so pump and spin.
For super wet heavy loads, if you cannot even get the washer to go through a cycle on the lowest spin speed, you may have to wring a bunch of the water out of the clothes by hand before doing the 14 minute cycle thing.

Please help! My samsung 7kg J845 front loader keeps flashing UE on the error code (spin cycle) and I can't open the door. Sarah

Hi, I have the same washing machine and it flashes UE on the error code during spin cycle when I have one thing in there, or if the clothes are uneven. I usually have to wait until the lock light goes out, re-arrange the clothes and continue spin cycle. If it is just one item in there, I usually have to manually wring it out as it will keep saying error if I keep trying to spin.

"UE" error code LG washer wm0642hw

This is an Imbalance code. Your issue may be with:

  • The load is too small
  • The appliance is tilted
  • Laundry is gathered to one side
  • Non-distributed things are put into the drum
Try adjusting the load size, and make sure the unit is level.

LG Washing Machine stops spinning in mid cycle

IE:

• Water supply is not adequate in
area.
• Water supply taps are not
completely open.
• Water inlet hose is bent.
• The filter of the inlet hose clogged.

Solution:
Check another tap in the house.
Fully open tap.
Straighten hose.
Check the filter of the inlet hose.

UE:
• Load is too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The appliance has an imbalance
detection and correction system. If
individual heavy articles are loaded
(bath mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, after several
attempts to restart the spin cycle the
machine will stop and the error code
will be displayed.

Solution:
Add 1 or 2 similar items to help
balance the load.
Rearrange load to allow proper
spinning.

My washer shows UE code

UE code is an "unbalance error". Believe it or not, it is possible to unbalance a front load style washing machine. Usually caused by trying to wash smaller loads where the drum spins to try to distribute the weight evenly. With less laundry, you cannot distribute enough weight evenly around the drum and sometimes will cause an unbalanced load. If your problem is not a simple loading issue, it could be the balance sensor, loose wiring, or possibly the main control board. I hope this helps.
