I hate to say it, but if the unit won't power on at all, regardless of the wall socket it is plugged into, that it is a general failure of the switchmode power supply, which, unless you are 'tech. savvy' or have relevant electronics experience with PSUs, will require repair by an authorised service technician in a fully equipped workshop - one which specialises in Denon product sales and service.

However, you say you have 'the lid off' (I love that description) and plugged into different outlets. While you have the top cover off, and unit unplugged from the wall, you can examine (at least visually) all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply; look for any bulging, crooked or leaky ones. These may be the primary cause of the failure in the PSU and since these are inexpensive components they can easily be replaced (they are not surface-mounted on the copper side of the board), either by yourself or by a workshop if you have no electronics experience.

This unit may be repairable, but at a cost. Get a quote from a service centre on the likely cost(s) to fix this unit so that you can make a firm decision on that basis. If you do go this route, insist on a technician's report from the workshop after repair and a written guarantee on the work done. This is up to you.

Denon is a quality brand and they have made many great audio/visual products over the last 20 years or so. Worth pursuing if you really want it repaired properly, irrespective of the age of the appliance.

I have a Denon 5803 and there's no power to the ac outlets and I'm getting no sound. I hadn't use it in a long while because I was overseas but nothing has changed.

Not to sure about the AC outlet problem but I have a Denon receiver and I have had the No sound problem with mine as well I've found it was the headphone jack you can get a headphone cable and spray it lightly with WD-40 then pull it in and out of the headphone jack a few times and you might have to leave it plugged in for about an hour if you can't get it to work another tip that might help is getting an air duster can and blowing out the dust I've found one or another to be very helpful because mine does this when it sets for awhile with no use Hope this helps out

Replace power outlet on 2006 Avalon

Try some of the Toyota parts outlets on the internet. Some of them show diagrams/ drawings of the parts IE: console . From there you can probably figure it out.

Machine won't turn on Hot Point washer, checked outlet ok

Have you tried to run it for a cycle? What exactly does not come on? Is the lid totally closed?

No power to washing machine

Did you try another appliance in the wall outlet that the machine uses? That will isolate the problem to a power supply or the machine itself.
Often a faulty lid switch causes the symptoms you describe.

Only 1 of the power outlets on a Denon UTP-250 is live so the CD player and the power amp do not power up. I ma trying to get cover off and removed 4 screws - it seems stuck. i am looking for internal...

There are 6 screws, 4 at the side and to at the rear panel. After removing theses screws you can take of the lid.
Next to the transformator there are two glass fuses. The 500mA fuse is obviously broken, so just replace it and the power is bach up.

Denon AVR-1403/483One of the speakers when connected trips the units power off.
Disconnected it and it works OK without that channel. Connected a different speaker and wire to that channel and it does the same, trips power off. It's acting like a when two wires are shorted. This is not the case as I have tried different wires and speaker. Not sure whats going on. Presently running system without that channel. Hope someone has an idea.
