I have a Kenmore washer model 110.2206 and im having a problem with the cold
water.
When the water temperature switch is set to the cold/cold position the washer does
not fill with cold water.
When the water temperature switch to hot then the washer will fill with hot water
and when the switch is set to warm it will fill with warm water.
I checked both water outlets at the wall and they both work. Also when the switch
was set to warm I can feel water flowing through both the hot and cold water
hoses.
Can anyone advise me as to wether they think my problem is at the water mix
valve or at the temperature control switch?
Thanks.

Since U get warm water that tells you that the cold and hot water solenoids are both operating. Ergo the anomaly has to be with the device that controls temperature.
They start with hot or warm ,what/ever the setting and rinse with cold water. Check the temperature adjustment and the cycle it's on as some do different things on different cycles.
You may have 2 defective parts. First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on. If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad. The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch. Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on. If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.
I just purchased the same model and have the same problem. Call Sears and have a repairmen sent while still under warranty. The water temperature sensors needed to be replaced in my washer.
Mixing valve should lock out the hot water when on the cold water setting. Either your hoses are crossed, or the mixing valve is flipped. To see if one of these is true, try it on a hot water setting to see if cold water comes in, or try just swapping the water hoses.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
The most likely cause for water fill temperature problems is the solenoid has burned out, usually cold first, it gets used more. Not a repairable item , easy to replace
