Question about Fisher and Paykel Washing Machines

1 Answer

I switched on the machine, and as soon as the power came on it made a strange noise, almost like something blew up. Then, I programmed the machine with the settings I wanted just like I usually do, and when I pressed start, I got that very same noise. Then a peep-peep noise now started and the spin cycle light turned red and I couldn't do anything. So I switched off the machine and when I plugged it back in, it was dead. Any ideas? Thanks, Kind regards, Martha

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but with such a major fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what is wrong with your washer. It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB.
I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.
Sorry again and good luck,
John C

Smeg Dishwasher Humming Noise

Hi olsworth,

I think you may have something hung up in the pump.  This is a bad situation.  See if you can remove the dish baskets, and remove the strainer cover in the bottom of the chamber and see if something is in the pump drain area. I am not real familiar with the Smeg, But I do know that humming is related to the pump motor in a strain. I will study this more and get back with you soon.  Please do not vote yet.  I am wanting to get this solved for you, and it may take a bit of study on my part to get you an answer.  Please give some feedback in to what you are finding on your end.

Washing machine wont work

If it's more than 6 years old, it's time for a new one. Or maybe you blew out your fuses. Try resetting the fuse box and switch off and on. Then after you switch back the power, go and try to turn on washing machine again.

First step is check inside the machine for crunched up paper at both ends of the print carriage path. You may need to start the machine and pull the power cable out as soon as the printhead starts to move. This allows you to move the carriage out of the way.

My Dyson hoover is working without an attachment, as soon as I add an attachment to the end, then the hoover starts to blow rather than ****. I have checked the attachments and there are no blockages? ...

If your machine makes strange noises when you put an attachment on, like something is being blocked - then you probably need to clean it on the inside.

Golf 2002 mk 4 130 making a strange noise when revs up

If you think it's the timing belt, get it replaced or inspected.

Even though there are other things that might make a noise, the damage you might do by having the timing belt fail while the engine is running are not worth the risk.

AEG Lavamat 16820: Strange noise coming the machine

Ok, the motor windings are bad. the A.C. hum is a warning that the motor will sound when the windings are separated or shorting. its unable to hold a balanced current.the motor will actually stop soon if it isn't repaired.
