Question about Panasonic CX-DP610 6-Disc CD Changer

Open Question

I have a panasonic 6 disc cd changer in trunk of my car. I keep getting a E1 error message which blinks for about 5 seconds then I hear the unit switching to the next disc in the cartridge but the E1 error will still be displayed.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Panasonic CD Changer with Pioneer reciever

Panasonic CD changers have a specific plug in that will not work with the Pioneer head unit. The Pioneer uses the IP-BUS plug. You will also not be able to convert the unit to work because the data between the two cannot be controlled and you won't have the ability to use the units together.

SOURCE: no power at the 6 disc cd changer?

Have you checked to see if the there is a blown fuse? Check to make sure of that first. If it is good then the only reason for it not working is the CD changer motor is fried. Do you ever smell anything burnt or hear any noises when you connect it? If you do hear anything but it wont power on, then its bad. hope this helps

I dont remember if that year had a theft lock system or not, but I am looking into it. disconnect the negative battery cable for ten minutes and that should get you back to where you can enter the unlock code again and use the radio.

How do you clean the laser please

You will probably have to disassemble the changer to access the laser lens. You can clean the lens with q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Be sure to be very gentle or you can scratch the lens which will ruin the lens.

I had the same problem. I opened up the unit and found out that there is a plastic gear that moves the loader. When worn the loader can not load tha magazines nor change cd's. I replaced the gear and the cd autochanger worked fine.
