RCA cdrw 121 recording shuts down at 41 minutes

Depending on the age of the unit the linear sled may have a blockage in the worm gear t that point. Does it play a disc all the way through or does it stop at 41 minutes too. This would be a hint. Make sure you are not recording in a high resolution mode which will cut down on time.

The cd player wont work on my durabrand hm3817dt

It may not be as random as you think. The cause of this type of failure is that there is a sled motor which drives a worm gear. This worm gear can accumulate dust and fuzz over time and the little motor in there is not a 1 horse power type device either. What happens is the pickup lens is scanning the data and at intervals it has to move a little bit to be able to read the disc again. If there is something that is resistive to the movement- hard grease or fuzz or the bad spot on the motor commutator then you come across this symptom. You might clear the problem for a while by putting a disc in and advancing it to the last track and then back to 1 a few times- this exercises the sled mechanism so that it may clear the debris that is stuck in the worm gear. If you continue to have a problem at intervals, then the sled motor needs to be changed and they are not so easily found and take a lot of labor to put in as they are buried deep in the mechanism. Just so you know.

Picture freezes while dvd player playing

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, the stepper motor that moves the laser is sticking on the worm gear or excessive ware on the gear linkage is preventing it from moving.

I use my samsung ht-z210 to play divx through usb and 8GB stick. With some divx movies the movie starts, but then the screen goes black for 1-2 seconds (sound and time continue) and then plays on. This...

I can't answer the first part of the question, but the DVD going blocky and jumping sounds like fingermarks or muck on the disc. It could be that when you handle the DVD your finger leaves a mark near the outside edge of the DVD. In future wipe the DVD with a glasses cloth, then handle by the very edge only.

Unable to read disc

If (1) this error only occurs with the Wii Fit game and (2) you have no scratches or marks on the game disc and (3) you have cleaned your Wii with a lens cleaner product recently; then, most likely the Wii Fit game disc is bad. It's not your Wii.

here's the problem: the wii fit game is 4.7gb. Most wii games are 4.4gb. Burning a Wii game at 2x speed is fine if its 4.4gb.

For Wii games that are 4.7gb (full size of a DVD disc) the games must be burned at 1x speed or errors will occur.

It is likely that Nintendo burned these at 2x speed and therefore your wii is getting an error due to them incorrectly burning the disc.

Xbox 360 makes televison screen fuzzy and difficlt to see

Firstly check the system configuration blade on your Xbox 360 startup screen and check your display settings, if you've got an Xbox Elite/New Premium and have HDMI cable then it should be set as Intermediate/1080i/p settings, if you have the component cables then it should all be set as default.

If that isn't the problem and your games are still loading up with a fuzzy screen then there is either something wrong with the cables in your Xbox or your TV can't handle the graphics that the Xbox is producing and you will have to go into display settings and try setting them as either lower settings or higher settings depending on the TV you have.

It will help if you can provide details to me on your TV too, I'm not as good with TV's as I am Videogame Consoles/PC's but it will help me if I want to solve your queries further.

Disc won't eject & stops working

your disc tray is jamming on an intermittent fault and when it does work it is recording each time the eject botton is being pressed so when your watching movies or playing games it tries to eject the disc tray and causes an automatic shutdown it will definately neet proffesionally repaired and should cost about 30-40 pounds and get a guarantee with it bacause these faults can come back to haunt you.

I had the same problem - you are (as I was) turning off the camera too soon after you hit the stop button after recording a scene. Wait until the word "disc access" appears (about 5 seconds after you hit the stop button. This "marks" the end of the scene. I just don't know how to edit that scene out or if it will delete it out. I know after finalizing the disc that scene will pause for a while (10 to 20 seconds even) when you watch it through the DVD player to the TV.
