Question about Kitchen Ranges

My Kenmore side by side fridge model# 52602100 Quit working. I can see what looks like a micro switch attached to the compressor that clicks (then the fridge sounds like its starting) on for about 5 to 10 seconds then clicks off? I think its an overload thing? with a relay. Could this be the problem? Thanks Much, Warm Ice Cream :-(

Yes. That is the start relay for the compressor. It has likely failed. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a link that should help Refrigerator clicking

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Side-By-Side. My wife said her ice Cream was to hard so she turned the left freezer knob down one number. Now the whole Refrigerator quit working. The compressor is running but...

either the cold control is bad now or the ptc overload on the compressors bad you can bypass the cold control to check if the compressor starts then if so just replace this control

Pull the fridge out and remove the bottem panel .find the compressor it is a black round unit.listen to see if the compressor is running should make a hummming sound if you put your ear by it.If it is not running check the starter relay. TO check it unplug fridge remove relay it is located on the side of the compressor with 2 or 3 wires running to it. remove it and shake it if it rattles or if there are burnt spots on it it needs to be replaced.Hope this helps. if so give us a4 thumbs up.THANKS

Fridge just quit!

yes it does! most likely the start relay is bad on the compressor, its a little box attached to side of compressor. pull this off and shake to see if it rattles inside. if so just replace the relay pt#8201786 this kit  has good instructions for replacing the part. good luck peyton. also while you have it pulled apart verify that the fanmotor by the compressor is running..

Freezer quit however fridge appears to be cooling...

if there is a fan in the freezer; in that is not working then yes OR the thermostat has gone. But the unit only has one compressor and if the fridge is working it is normally a good sign.

If you where really concerned you could call a domestic refrig tech they could fix it.

Hope that this helps

Kenmore side by side #50562991

The black pod is the compressor and the switch on the side is the compressor start relay. You either have a failed relay or a locked up compressor.
Most likely it is a burned out relay.
Unplug the fridge and remove the relay from the compressor.
Shake it. If it sounds like a lot of loose pieces are rattling around in it, it is burned out.
Be sure you replace it with the correct replacement part. A "fit-all" relay may work for a while then cause the compressor to fail.
Your model number has 106 in front of it. You will need to know that when looking up or ordering parts.
Post back if you have any questions.

Kenmore side by side

take out ice bin, make sure you get it lined up when put back together, should click, sometimes they are a little off and you have to keep trying, mine has that defect, it works, but only on its terms, its a pain to do, but that can stop it from working due to a safety thing

Kenmore fridge

First we need to see if the compressor is running.  Pull the fridge out take off the lower panel on the back and see if you can hear it running.  Also, need to know if freezer fan and fan by compressor is running.  Check for thick frost build up on back panel in freezer.  Let me know what you find.
