Question about Computers & Internet
Without knowing your exactyour Operating System, I cannot point you, directly, to your download. I can, however, bring you to the Inspiron 1545 Update Download page. Which is actually a better choice, as it contains all updates and upgrades and firmware for every device in your model:
First: be sure your physical On/Off switch is on. That will either be located on the left, front or right edge of your computer.
Dell also uses the Fn+F2 combination, on some models (without a physical switch).
If you have a Radio Tower Logo on your F2 key; hold down your function key and tap the F2 key (the same Radio image you see on your Fn Key - left of space bar). If it has a circle with a strike through it (Like a no smoking sign) that means your Wireless Radio is OFF.
To turn it ON simply hold down your Fn Key, again, and Tab the F2 key again until you only see the Radio Tower Image, without the Circle Strike Through Image; that means it is On...
**NOTE: Be Certain to minimize ALL windows to see the image when pressing Fn+F2:
1. Select <Operating System> from the drop-down menu on this page
2. Scroll to <Network>
3. Click the + Sign Left of network
4. Choose <Wireless Network Adapter>
5. Select Download Using Browser (if you only wish to do 1 upate).
Thank You For Choosing FixYa~!

1. boot to cd/dvd rom using the dell resource drivers utilities. you need to test the dvd drive if it is working, if yes, we might have 2 problems it might be the dvd installer or the hdd. run a test for the hdd to isolate the issue or you can try to run the installer to a diff computer to test if dvd installer is not faulty.

Your laptop may have a pre-defined Ip address locked in for your work connection. Did your buddy use the laptop at your place of employment, or was it used at his home? Sometimes an ip is entered manually in the tcp/ip menu locking it to a certain address. To check this opem metwork connections in control panel and right click your wireless device then choose properties and left click. Scroll to the TCP/IP line and go to properties. Make sure everything thereis set to automatic.
