Question about Asko D1976 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

I have an Asko D1976 dishwasher. . Recently, the Fan (drying/cooling) in the door has begun running and does NOT shut off. . I have tried running the washer thru several cycles turning the fan-switch on or off for each run. . I have tried turning the electric power off completely by tripping the circuit breaker switch off at the electric panel, hoping to reset the unit. - - - Fan stills runs constantly. . I tried changing the default fan setting using the S1 controls. No change. . What could be wrong? Is there some other procedure I could do to fix or at least diagnose the problem?

SOURCE: DW trips cicuit breaker

I have seen a lot of these older dishwasher break the wires running up to the timer. the break right near the bottom of the door where they flex when you open and close it. I would turn of the power, remove all the torx screws along the inside edges of the door, as well as the 2 on the bottom edge of the door facing up (you cant see them, just gotta feel around for them) and loosen the 2 on the top of the door near the latch ( so you can tilt the control panel out to remove the outer door) follow the wires from the timer down to the bottom of the door and see if any are broken or missing insulation. If not, take the bottom panel of the dishwasher as well and locate the 2 terminals hooked to the heater and check them with an ohmeter to see if they are grounded to the frame of the dishwasher. the dishwasher may be doing a heated rinse just before the dry cycle even though you have low temperature and no heated dry selected, so the problem may still be the heater. Good Luck!

D1976 machine won't do anything but pump out.

The flood switch must have tripped. This is likely to happen if there is a water leakage.

If you can pull the dishwasher out (after turning off the power and water connections) and tilt it on one side. Wait a little (to let the switch dry up) and then turn it on.

Hope this helps.

Hi I had f2 flash up on the control panel so we drained it and turned it back on it now shows 5 on the control panel and wont do anything else it is a ASKO D1976

Hi

Error F2 in asko dishwashers indicate high water level. This may happen due to plugged drain pump or due to faulty water inlet valve. To resolve the issue remove the back plate and check the drain pump. Disconnect the hoses from the drain pump and clear the lint from the hose and the pump area. Lot of water would be there when you'll remove the hose from the pump, be ready to collect it. Let it dry and now the dishwasher will work perfectly now. Hope it helps...

make sure nothing is below bottom rack holding spray arm from turning..if not clean out the sump by removing lower rack ..you can open the door fast when the dishwasher is running and see if it is spraying and see how hard ..

A white flim appears on inside of dishwasher and over dishes

Usually a calcium build up from hard water.
Make sure your rinse agent resivoir is full ( Jet Dry)
Run the washer empty with abot 3 tablespoons of TANG in the soap dispenser
The acid in the Tang should clean the deposit. Depending on how severe it is it may require a second treatment

My Asko D1976 dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly. There is a lot of clumped detergent left in the dispenser after wash cycles are complete, and many of the dishes have dried-on food left on them. ...

First of all, don't pre-rinse the dishes. Check the water temperature, it should be between 120 and 140 degrees. Be sure you are not partially blocking the dispenser door so that it isn't opening.

My dishwasher smells when the door is opened

Jet-dry sells a product that is supposed to clean dishwashers out.
You can try running an empty load with both soap compartments full of either vinegar OR Baking soda. DO NOT MIX BOTH.
