Question about Kohler Toilet - One Piece with Ingenium Flushing System - San Raphael by

1 Answer

My 703 Kohler toilet has trouble keeping the flapper centered for a proper seal. I have made three flapper replacements in the past five years and never get it properly centered for a sustained period of time. I even wired the plastic rod which holds the flapper wings tight, after centering and behold after about fifty flushes it is back of center and leaks to the consternation of my wife. Do I need a new flush assembly?

And where do I get a new flush assembly? My local Lowes or Home Depot doesn't carry the assembly for this deluxe model.

Water runs in the toilet off and on continually?

Either the bottom outlet washer or the inlet valve washer needs replacing. It is a common condition, and if unsure, call a handyman in. An expensive plumber should not be needed.

I have a one piece Kohler toilet with a model 703 valve assembly. It is leaking. Do you know of a replacement for it?

Hi,
The model 703 was replaced by part number 1068030. go to the kohler.com site and get to the part area and search for 1068030.

You may just need a new flapper - 1010376 part number

I have a kohler model 703 # sb78drn, the toilet keeps running. i changed the flapper and now the toilet doesn't stop running. please help?

Try adjusting the float level. The float is what tells the toilet to stop filling. If the float is set too high, then water will just go down the overflow tube and never be able to get to the level it needs to turn off.

I need to replace the flapper on my kohler model 703 toilet but don't know that part # can you give that to me please.

Kohler toilets normally have the part numbers on the underside of the the tank lid. I was not able to find the 703 model listed on the Kohler sites; check under the tank lid there for a more complete model number and possibly a specific number for your toilet flapper.

Here is a fairly user friendly site with an illustrated selection of Kohler replacement parts. You may be able to match your model number or measure and visually match a suitable replacement:

Your other option is to turn off the water supply to your toilet; remove the flapper and pay a visit to your local plumbing supply store. In some cases you will be able to use a universal repalcement part as long as the means of attachment and the size are the same.

I just got a new Kohler toilet from HD. After installed it, it keeps running water fro every 10 minutes.

the water level could be adjusted too high and it is running down the overflow tube. if the fill valve makes a noise trying to fill every 10 minutes then you have a flapper on the flush mechanism that is not sealing properly. it may be out of shape or have something stuck under it.

I replaced the flapper in my kohler model 703 toilet. when i flush the handle stays in the up position and the flapper does not go down

If you installed the flapper using the ring. Remove it. If it is a rubber ring then cut the ring out and use the hinges on the sides to install. Other than that make sure your flapper chain is straight and not twisted and also that the chain is giving the flapper a reasonable slack. Hope this helps!

Toilet doesn't turn off after flush

The Kohler Cimarron is one of the most popular and reliable toilets out there. (My Favorite). However, depending on the hardness of the water and if you use cleaner tabs in the tank, these factors can lead to a malfunction.
The first thing you should do is hold the flapper (rubber seal inside the tank that releases the water down to the bowl) down with your hands for a few seconds after a flush and see if the toilet stops running. Sometimes the flapper doesn't seal properly therefore the fill valve keeps working non stop. Stopping the fill while holding the flapper down will confirm that your flapper needs to be changed.
If this doesn't work then try this....
The other common problem with a running toilet is with the fill valve itself. There is an attached float on the fill valve that goes up and down depending on the water level. Once the water level rises, it rises the float, and the float tells the fill valve to stop filling the tank. While the toilet is running (hissing), try raising the float all the way up with your hand and see if it stops. If it stops but not consistently with every attempt, then you will need to change the fill valve. I believe the Fluidmaster 400A is the replacement model.

I have a kohler one pease model K-3434 I Have replaced all parts kohler parts the problem i had before was the flapper was not sealing properly after replacing all parts i still have the same problem...

Try cleaning the surface of the drain hole where the flapper fits. There might be crud causing it to not seal. Sometimes the flapper itself is not large enough (or too large) to properly fit the hole. If no good you might try weighting the flapper. Not easy to do. You'll have to pull the flapper, dry it completely find the right adhesive place the weight just right. And hope that works. Good Luck...
