I need to set the comment language in Word 2007 and don't know how to do that.

I found this answer at http://word.tips.net/T007248_Changing_the_Language_of_Comment_Boxes.html. I think it will answer your question, regardless of your Word version. (Word has been using Styles for interesting modifications like this since 6.0.)

Changing the Language of Comment Boxes
by Allen Wyatt (last updated February 15, 2014)

Mary Anne edits academic texts. She is Canadian, as are most of her clients. She therefore sets all documents in Canadian English. However, she discovered that in Track Changes comment boxes are still in U.S. English. Mary Anne wonders how she can change the comment boxes to Canadian English.

The solution to this question is rooted in the way in which Word uses styles. All the text that Word creates is formatted through the use of styles. The text in comment boxes is no exception. You can modify the appropriate styles related to comments by following these general steps:

1.Display either the Styles dialog box or the Styles and Formatting pane, depending on your version of Word. (How you do this has been covered many times in other issues of WordTips.) [ED: Try using help on your Word to find out how to display the Styles and Formatting Pane. Search for "how to display styles pane".]

2.Use the controls in the dialog box or the pane to display all the styles used by Word.

3.Use the controls to modify the three styles used for comments: Comment Text, Comment Reference, and Comment Subject. You can set the language used for each of these.

4.Close the Styles dialog box or the Styles and Formatting pane. That's it. Change the styles, and Word changes how it treats the text formatted with those styles. You'll particularly want to pay attention to the Comment Text style; it is this style that is used for the text shown within comment boxes.

Everything is in chinese

To change your language go to:

Settings > Languages & input > Language > Select the one you want.

If the tablet is in another language and you cannot read any of the labels, please follow the instructions below:

Get into settings. The icon looks like three bars with small ovals intersecting them. From here, you should see a list of icons on the left side of the screen, followed by text (which may be incomprehensible). Look for the Languages & input icon which looks like an A in a white box. From the following menu, choose the very top option. It doesn't matter if you can understand the text or not - it says "language." The following menu should show a list of languages, each as it's described in that country. For instance, English is written as "English," but German is "Deutsch." In other words, it should be very easy to find the language you understand - just look for it from the list of options and it should be immediately legible. Once you tap your language option, the system language should change and you should be able to understand the rest of the system menus.

My text numbers have changed to chinese i think, the letters are still the same but when i go to write a number in a message, its in some other style of writing. how do i change it back to numbers???

When you are trying to send a message...

Tap and hold for about 3 seconds on the text box
This should pop up a box for "Text Input" choose android keyboard

If this doesn't fix your issue...
Go to main screen
Press bottom "Left" button
Tap "Settings"
Scroll to Time and Language
Choose your correct setting for keyboard.
I'm guessing it is set on Japanese/Chinese and you need to set it to English

Hope this helps :)

Hi i bought a phone which is N82 smart phone, however when i connected to my Tmobile network it is working properly but the only thing is that when someone sends me a text message it is in chinese. So, how...

Here's what your user guide says..

Press , and select Tools > Settings >
General > Personalization.
Language
Changing the settings for the phone language or
writing language affects every application in your
device, and the change remains effective until you
change these settings again.
Phone language — Change the language of the
display text in your device. This also affects the
format used for date and time and the separators
used, for example, in calculations. Automatic
selects the language according to the
information on your SIM card. After you change
the display text language, the device restarts.
Writing language — Change the writing
language. This affects the characters available
when writing text and the predictive text
dictionary used.
Predictive text — Set predictive text input on
or off for all editors in the device. The predictive
text dictionary is not available for all languages.

Good luck. Plz rate this if it helps you. Thank you kindly.

In case you didnt get the userguide I'll add a link for it also...

you can then set input preference, either under "options" icon > input method, or click on the top right rectangular box in the texting screen itself.
