F07 - Motor Control Unit (MCU) Error - Disconnect power and unplug unit. Check wire harness connections between drive motor and Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Reconnect power and plug unit in.
Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor, and check drive motor for powered rotations. Replace failed component.

Note: If this failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after three minutes.

Started drying load, dryer shut off. won't turn on. checked door, changed thermal fuse, checked breaker. still doesn't work. light also not on.

If this is an electric dryer, you may have lost half of the power supply to it. Unplug and remove the little cover plate above where the power cord enters the dryer. Look at the 3 screws holding on the power cord for burned/black looking or loose connections. If nothing wrong there, shut off house breaker and remove cover on house plug where you plug the dryer into and look for same type of issues.

AMD 121 won't shut off, or change cycles. Continuously "hums".

Did you try just unplugging from the wall outlet, and let sit for 15 seconds and plugging back in. Sort of like a re-boot on the computer? Just a suggestion.

Won't start

Is door securely shut? Safety switch could be preventing start. Might try unplugging for about 1 min, then plug back in and try. On some models, this will allow circuit to reset. Good luck!

Keep getting disk read error, have tried other fixes for updates but nothing works

Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, try to boot normally. If that fails, unplug while running, wait 30 seconds or so, plug in, that should cause the Boot options menu to come up, select safe mode with networking. post results.

Maytag MED5700TQ occasionally completely shuts down during cool down mode

Sure!
You may have a bad timer, that is turning off the electricity to the motor while the heater is still energized.

Long time ago, dryers had about 3 "automatic shut-off's" two on the heating element, and one on the motor.
Because of the lint that comes with drying clothes, fire is always a danger.
Today, the "thermostat shut-off's" are up to 5, 6, or 7 on some models!
Sounds like your dryer is getting hot enough to trip one of these. When the whole machine cools down, the thermostat resets, and the machine starts again.'
I had a dryer do the same thing. The problem with that one was nothing more than dust and lint in the motor, and all I had to do was vacuum out or blow out the motor about once or twice a year.
Be blessed
