This is an efficient, easy-to-use tool to help you figure out the details that make your computer tick. BIOS Agent is a lightweight freeware application with a clean and well-designed interface that lets you get the information you need with only a few button clicks. The program can retrieve information on the type of BIOS your computer runs and chipset type, as well as information on CPU, ROM, and RAM. Once you've gathered the details you need, you can save the report in TXT format or print it. There's no installation required for BIOS Agent. This program will be useful for administrators or power users looking to keep their systems up to date. hope this helps

LGA775 (occasionally called Socket T) is a current processor socket used for Intel desktop processors and has been in use since mid-2004. As such, it is the basis of most current consumer motherboards and supports a variety of processors including versions of the Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Core 2 processors. As actual compatibility with a particular processor is determined by the chipset used on the board, it is still important to check the motherboard's actual compatible processors.

Unknown cpu detected asus.Bios update is required to unleash its full power.

You will get this message when you install a CPU that is not supported by the mainboard BIOS. Many older mainboards have sockets that will support much more powerful CPUs than they were originally manufactured for. In some cases, the BIOS may be upgradeable to support the new CPU, in others, the CPU may draw too much power or the mainboard chipsets will not support the CPU capabilities. If your CPU is on the list of compatible CPUs...you may need to upgrade the BIOS to support it. You will need to install a CPU that the mainboard will run with to do the BIOS upgrade prior to installing the new CPU, however.

Ensure that you download the BIOS update from the ASUS Website - nowhere else - and that it is for your exact motherboard model.

Instructions are here:

I am a bit surprised that they still require you to copy the files to a floppy/USB and boot into DOS. Last time I updated my Phoenix BIOS the utility ran from Windows. But anyway, that seems to still be the procedure for ASUS boards.

Asus bios problem

Unless there is a compelling reason to update the bios it should be left alone. Apparently this is one reason for that sage advice.

Go back to asus, download an older version of the bios and install it. Fortunately you didn't end up unable to boot or you would be buying a new board.

Problem after updating asus bios

The first thing I would try is to clear CMOS. Either set the jumper on the motherboard to do this, or even remove the battery, and wait half an hour or so. When installing a new CPU, and even RAM, you should always clear CMOS.

Cheers

I sounds to me like u flashed the BIOS the wrong way with the wrong update. Try to go back to the old version 0609 ? and have www.drivers.com scan your cpu to find the right BIOS for you.
